I left work at 3:50 today to drive home to pick up Marty for his appointment. I hadn't planned on a snow storm! My 20 minute trip took me 35 minutes...not too bad. The roads were very, very slippery....very. Anyhow, I got home and drove over to vet with Marty. Now I think I've mentioned before that Marty does NOT like going to the vet AT ALL. He gets himself so worked up it's crazy! He won't get on the exam table at all..nope. I have to hold him or the vet gets down on the floor! The vet holds out much hope that the lump was caused by Marty's rabies and distemper shots about 2 weeks ago. The tech and I both recalled that he moved and she had a very bad time. I tell you he's bad! The vet wants us to measure the lump every other day and keep track of any change. Also, if I notice ANYTHING off with him ANYTHING, I am to call. He feels that the doesn't want to put him through the stress of a biopsy and he doesn't want to do unnecessary surgery. I guess I have to believe he knows his stuff. He understands how I feel about my furry kids! So we left and the vet said "no charge"! Please keep him in your prayers I'm not ready to give him up yet...

that sounds like great news! my baby cat kady had the same thing happen to her when she got her 2nd ever rabies shot. she's now 7 and all is well! i'm sure it will be the same for marty.
Oh, I'm praying that all will be well with him. It sounds like promising news!! keep us updated!
That DOES make sense. A think a lot of animals can develop a lump from those shots that eventaully goes away.
Be careful in that crazy weather! Just stay inside! Wouldnt this be a nice time to have a personal driver? Like a limo stocked with a hot chocolate maker. :)
I agree with the Vet. That sounds highly likely. Norman got a lump from his shots one time, and it went away in a couple days. We will definitely be thinking about him though! Poor little sweetie pie!
Yes, I hope that is what it is and nothing serious. I want Marty to stay with you for more years! I can't imagine driving in that stuff. It looks so cold...the pictures show the coldness real well. I've never seen salt bags here! Never seen chains on tires...never seen a snow plow...I guess I'm missing a lot of work that the snow brings with it. But that snow sure is pretty as I sit down here...
That makes a lot of sense. Benjamin got a bump from one of his Rabies shots once and it surfaced about a week and a half after the shot. He also got a major lump after being bitten by a bug here in FL (but we do have some crazy bugs down here) Keeping Marty in my thoughts.
Glad to hear Marty got a good report at the vet. And glad to hear it was no charge!
We will pray that everything is ok,
Roxy & Lucky
You are in our thoughts and prayers. Sorry we didn't read sooner!
