30 days of my Pug's Closet - Day 23

Hop, hop, hop, version deux....

I did not make the ears in yesterday's post, but did in today's post. The "ear" itself is from store bought ones, that I cut and made little hoods for the girls to wear. Marty was mighty happy I could not find black ears....Of the dresses I have sewn, these are one of my favorites...... Yep, Marty sure is happy about no ears....

30 days of my Pug's Closet - Day 14

It's getting chilly around here and Zoey wants to show off another of her individual items. This is actually a store bought coat. I talked P into letting me buy it to see "how it was put together". Since I mainly make my own patterns I wanted to see how to make sleeves work. I never did take it apart, but I did figure out sleeves on my own.
Here are a couple of custom outfits a rescue group ordered from me modeled by Chloe and Marty. See, I did figure out sleeves!

P is a Buffalo Bill's fan...one of our meetups was football theme, so I bought tshirts in the toddler department and added names to the backs.....

30 days of my Pug's Closet - Day 12

We even have birthday hats in our closet. Chloe wanted Scooby Doo, but had to settle with Sponge Bob....sorry Chloe. She's also wearing her pink hoodie...which I actually did not make! Still can't believe she's turning 6 already!!!

You know she's very interested in the cake!

As always today is also a day that weighs heavy on my heart....8 years ago today my mom passed away from cancer....diagnosed only 2 weeks her passing was a shock...she was only 61. I think of her every day and thank God for the wonderful mother she was. She's the one who was crazy enough to start teaching me to sew at age 6!
The missing never ends......

30 days of my Pug's Closet - day 10

Today's choice is the shirt and tie set I created after rescuing Marty. I had always dressed our girls, then along came Marty. Some of you know that I sell these shirt and tie sets in my Etsy shop (see sidebar). Several of you have purchased and enjoy these (or at least you say you do!).

I have sewn a simpler version of this set with only the collar and tie. It, along with holiday dresses are now in my shop! Pop over and check them out. I custome size everything for perfect fit!

Now I admit Marty looks handsome in his set, but here is Henry in his! Isn't he adorable???? Henry's mom found us while reading Owned by Pugs she doesn't have her own blog yet, but hopefully will in the near future. Meantime she was nice enough to let me show Henry on my blog for you all to see.

Speaking of Owned by Pugs...C from there asked me to create an idea she had for costumes. She described what she wanted, emailed me measurements and then there were...
Linus, Lucy and Charlie Brown!!!
Check out her Halloween Post to see more of this adorable group. C does a great job with her website and blog. Be sure to visit them!

30 days of my Pug's Closet - Day 9

Today's outfits from my Pug's Closet was chosen under sad circumstances. We have found out that a Puggy friend from Meetup passed away unexpectantly this morning. Sadly TM was found dead, leaving his wife, and Puggy, Darla.
Cinco deMayo Dresses....
We'll miss you T...right in there playing with the furry ones. I'm sure your up there right now playing with the ones on the other side of the rainbow bridge........

30 days of my Pug's Closet - Day 7

95% of the stuff in my Pug's Closet is handmade by me..but there's that 5% of stuff that I saw in the store and just couldn't resist.

Here's Marty with the family fishing outfit. This photo doesn't show the vest very well, but it has all the zippers and pockets that a real "fisherpug" needs.

UPDATE: NO fish were harmed in this post. Marty is a "catch and release" fisherpug!

30 days of my Pug's Closet - Day 6

Chloe and Zoey also have matching coats I made them. These coats are reversible, with a embossed, quilted fleece on the reverse side. I think the girls look quite cuddly, if I do say so myself. Funny story about the plaid taffeta used....I had gotten this fabric to make C a Christmas dress...when she was 6!!!! Fabric nevers goes to waste when you have Pugs to dress!

30 days of my Pug's Closet - Day 5

Usually I make duplicates of everything so the girls all match. Once in awhile I'll do something unique for one of them...this time it was for Zoey. This is leopard print with pleather trim. The collar folds up or down and there is a self belt...quite the little fashion star!
