New b...l...o....g....g....e....r

I have not had a lot of time to try to figure out what's up with new version. When I try to moderate comments from work I get error message. I was so frustrated I did not even try to post from there. I need to take an evening and figure it all out. I did get an email from Blogger Help, but it doesn't address my problem. Some of you have given suggestions which I will try. It may have to do with my own computer, firewall, etc....I'm just not sure...BLAH

Yesterday I did another rescue...very, very, sad. Two Pugs owned by a woman who was a victim of domestic violence. She is going into a "safe house" and then moving out of state. She needed quick help with this two girls, a mother and daughter, 9 and 5. I have worked hard over the past 3 days and found them a wonderful home. Yesterday after work I drove to the woman's house, where they were packing the moving truck and took them from her. I have never witnessed such heartache for a person...(well not including human death). She held each one so tightly and cried and cried. I was crying, my girlfriend, was crying, and both Pugs were crying in my backseat. It was so, so terrible. They calmed down about 10 minutes into our hour drive. They are just adorable, but have no shots, no harness, no collar, no leashes, etc. I guess just no extra money for them. Amazingly in good health, she obviously loved them. None of these rescues get any easier for me. I am NOT a rescue group, I just love Pugs and would not be mean to any animal....well maybe a roach (lol). It got me to thinking "what if something ever happened to me and my family, what would happen to my four". Many people have provisions in their wills for their pets...I work in a law office, I write wills....mine needs revisions!

Hugs to all of you...we'll be back posting regular and hopefully pics soon!

Another day with no pictures

Dare I say "new blogger" has issues????? I seem to be able to post now and commenting and moderation of comments is okay, but NO PHOTOS. I spent over an hour hunting around help and came up with an address to email to. I sent email and have heard nothing back. I can only imagine the problems they are having. Those of you that have switched over to "new blogger" (not Beta Blogger) did you have problems. Please know that we all HAVE to switch at some point and when the time comes it is either switch or not continue. Until I can post again, check out my day by day link for daily photos.

New Blogger

Today I was forced to switch to new blogger. Now it's coming up saying I have like 57 comments to moderate....blah. When I moderate I get an error page. Well, I hope the kinks work out eventually.

Looks like a "new" boat.

Hubby got a telephone call that his boat cover and top was done. He took a trip out and brought back photos for me to see. He will be picking it up during the week. I would like to get a photo of him towing it with all this snow...it would be a pic of crazy opposites!

It will be nice to have a place "out of the sun"

Asking too much of God....?????

Sad news on the weekend...our friend with Pancreatic Cancer could not have his tumor removed. It was supposedly small - but ended up being a huge mass that emcombassed 90% of his intestines! Luckily the cancer has not spread, but is contained in this huge mass. He will now require radiation and chemo....I pray for him.

Secondly, a Pug friend....a wonderful woman who heads up a rescue group has found out that her previous cancer - has spread to her bones. She originally was given three years to live, but now is in a wheel chair. This woman's discussion about dying was consumed with Pug rescue.....I pray for her and her family.

Lastly, my dad's face seems to be healing nicely.....I pray his has not spread.

Is this asking too much of God. I hate when I analyze my prayers...should I reword this, should I pray for this. I am sure God knows my true heart and hears all my crazy prayer thoughts. So God, I pray for the sick, let them be healed and if it is your will they are not healed...I pray for strength for their families and strength for myself to be someone people can continue to turn to for strength.

Toronto - part two

Blogger was nice enough to let me post some more Toronto pictures tonight....

Here is the bedroom in the $750,000 boat. This bedroom had cream leather and wood walls. It was really beautiful.

Here is the cable car "turnaround" on the way to the hotel

"Ragus", I posted these pics for you....you always do such nice photos of what you eat! My husband is really getting into this whole thing after meeting "cute girl" and he was offering up ideas for other photos.

The fruit was yummy!

The start of the drive home..... ugh!!!!

Please pray for my dad.....

Please kept my dad in your prayers. He had a couple of "suspicious" areas removed from his face and ear today and they are cancerous. Please pray that the cancer has not spread and if it has for strength.....he's all I have left.

The Boat Show

So besides having a great blog-meetup I did also survive the boat show day with my husband. We got up at 4am and were on the road at 5:08, yeah I was a little slowwwwwwwww. Anyhow, we hit some real crazy weather towards the Canadian border (Niagara Falls end). My husband knows I "white knuckle" during bad driving weather and he kept saying "it's not that bad, we have four wheel drive, we're very safe, blah, blah, blah" Of course I might add that while he's telling me all this I see one car in ditch to my right, one car in median on my left and the frosting...the van on it's ROOF!!!! Holy crap!!!!!!!!! Thankfully the roads cleared as we neared Toronto as did my grip on the door handle!

Even though it was nearing 8:30am it still looked very dark!

Moving into the show...what the heck 3 motors??????

The arena where the Marlies Hockey team plays was flooded and they had boats and docks floating in there! Very cool indeed.

Here's one of the "little boats" we went in. This one was only $750,000 Canadian!

No dear...you can not buy this boat!

It would have been nice to actually finish this post, but blogger is NOT letting me upload my photos. It has me wondering, when it says "done" and your photos don't appear, where the heck did they go??????????

Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!

We met and survived!

What a treat! A quick exchange of emails, cell numbers and we met! We couldn't have "planned" this any better! J is amazing. She was minutes away and she came to our hotel. I went to the lobby to get her and she was EXACTLY as I imagined...right down to the voice. I felt like I knew her FOREVER. It was so fun and that hour and a half FLEW by! She is so, so, sweet and funny and crazy too. I hope she didn't end up being too late for her "clubbing"!

Blah to dinner, I should have gone clubbing! LOL

I'll post about the boat show and trip later..our meeting was the best part! My husband said he really "gets" all this blogging stuff now..heehee. Of course, too bad for him I sat at dinner making plans for how more of us can meet and how we can meet and when we can meet. He just laughed at me! You know J...I'm a little crazy (bubbly?????)

Lisa, I'm not sure any place could handle all of us getting acquainted....come on S - Florida isn't that far! By the way, I'm coming out of the blogging closet - just call me Debbie!

Message to a Snowboard Thief

To whomever stole my son's snowboard last night at Kissing Bridge, SHAME ON YOU. He had just gotten hurt and was being helped inside to clean up his scraped up face and you TAKE HIS SNOWBOARD, while he is inside!!!! He has had a real run of bad luck and a friend paid his way for a nice night snowboarding and not only does he get hurt, but YOU steal his board????? What is the matter with you and people like you? He works 50 hours a week, making a lousy $8.25 an hour to get started on his own. How do you feel you deserve to take his board????? SHAME ON YOU!!!!!

Toronto International Boat Show

Well, I have been "talked into" going to the Toronto Boat Show this weekend. It starts tomarrow and goes until next Sunday. This Saturday seemed to be the only time we could go between my husband working nights and me working days. We are leaving (without Pugs - boohoo) Saturday morning at 5am!!! It takes around 3 1/2 hours to get to Toronto from our house. We will spend the day at the boat show and can check into our hotel at 2pm. I haven't had any time to try to figure out what else we can do on this short trip, as we just formalized the idea TODAY. Seems someone lost their birth certificate and then lost the replacement birth certificate and had to order another for $36, which luckily came in the mail today! I'm sorry to say that someone is ME! I'm so busy keeping everyone else's stuff organized - my own got messed up! Apparently as of 12/31 of this year a birth certificate and photo id are necessary for travel in and out of the US, even to Canada. Next year we'll all need Passports.

Anyone have any ideas what to do on short notice in Toronto?

Finally, snow!

We woke up to this...... and no one seemed to mind too much!

Life Lessons

A friend sent me this in an email, a great bunch of thoughts for a great new year!

ONE Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.

TWO Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other.

THREE Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.

FOUR When you say, "I love you," mean it.

FIVE When you say, "I'm sorry," look the person in the eye.

SIX Be engaged at least six months before you get married.

SEVEN Believe in love at first sight.

EIGHT Never laugh at anyone's dream. People who don't have dreams don't have much.

NINE Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely.

TEN In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.

ELEVEN Don't judge people by their relatives.

TWELVE Talk slowly but think quickly.

THIRTEEN When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, "Why do you want to know?"

FOURTEEN. Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.

FIFTEEN Say "bless you" when you hear someone sneeze.

SIXTEEN When you lose, don't lose the lesson

SEVENTEEN Remember the three R's: Respect for self; Respect for others; and responsibility for all your actions.

EIGHTEEN Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.

NINETEEN. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.

TWENTY Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice.

TWENTY-ONE Spend some time alone.

Happy New Year!

To all our friends, may this 2007 bring you joy and contentment. May all of you, your families, and your puggies (and other pets) remain safe and healthy. May you always have the wisdom to do what is right and the strength to get through the "bleeps". We love you all!!! Blog on!!!
