Spring Flower Project

I know it's Spring somewhere, so this weekend I decided to start my hanging plant kit. The cast of characters. Basket, moss, dirt, seeds.....
Start with putting that little moss cub in 4 cups of water. P said it smelled like a swamp in the kitchen....
Wow, water really affects moss......
Next hook the hangers on the wire basket. I decided to hang mine from the cupboard handle to work on.
You have to smash all the moss into the basket. Trust me no easy task as it wanted to fall through the openings in the basket.
Now on to mixing the soil. One bag soil, two cups of water...
Hmmm, think maybe this bowl is not quite going to work......
This will work better.....
You take the plastic bag the dirt came in and put it in over the moss. Next all the dirt goes in (save out one cup) and the seeds are put in. They say to put the seeds in clumps, no more than 50 seed to an area???? Well, I was NOT aboutto count out 50 tiny tiny seeds to I "eyed" it. As I put the seeds in I put the marker of that plant in the area. Then the remaining soil is put over the seeds and lightly misted.
Stay tuned for progress photos!

Etsy and the new grand NON PUG baby

I've finally added a link to my Esty store here on the blog. Right now there is only one item on there and I probably should have waited until I was really READY...but maybe this will give me the nudge I need.

I know your all wondering how I could have a granddaughter that is not a Pug. You know these kids can't tell them anything! Like everything else they make their own choices in pets. I have to say that long nosed, soon to be HUGE, puppy sure beats the heck out of other choices the son has made for pets...snakes, lizards, man eatting fish...you get the idea, right?

Let's just hope I'm not responsible for her when they go on their honeymoon next year!

Wedding Gowns and a grandaughter....

Well, did I get your attention????

A friend requested I make her Pug a wedding gown. She sent me the measurements and I got to work. I decided no wedding gown was complete without a veil, and no veil is complete without a "blusher". Here Zoey models....

I'm very please with how it turned out. I may have to add this to my Etsy account.

Now for the grandaughter part.....

Meet "Bailey". R surprised us with his new furry "bundle of joy". She's only 9 weeks old....wow! They went home with a harness, collar, 2 leashes, puppy shampoo, 2 balls, and a brush. What's a grandmother for?

22 days until camp opens.....gah.....I'm not ready

Have you seen these salt and pepper shakers?????? Chili Puggers....hahahahah Hmmmm, more appropriate I think .....at least the devil!

Hope everyone had a blessed Easter. We survived at our house with a bad neck (me) and puffy face (C). I was off from Thursday C's wisdom teeth day. I forgot what it is like to have a "patient" in the house. She was pretty amusing and remembers little of her conversations on the way home...I should have taped her. The furry ones enjoyed having everyone hanging close to home. I have not been taking many photos as P has been hogging my camera. I think I will buy him his own for his birthday....maybe then I can have mine back to take all those "silly" pictures he says I take.
I have a list of things I still want to accomplish before we get heavy into summer and camp. Most of the snow is melted and we can see all the clean up...good grief. Come April our thoughts move to fishing (P), campfires, walks, reading on the boat.........

P is for ........

Well, we know P is for pugs, but apparently at our house today we were going to have more fun. We got up early to drive C to work. Came downstairs and saw that for some reason said cat Buster had decided to P is for Pee all over the center of the dog's bed. Marty took one look and lifted his leg and did P is for Pee all over the side, so there. Then I looked over and saw that said cat, Buster had also done P is for Poop on the kitchen floor and Marty was trying to sample P is for Poop. I cleaned up both of the P's, washed the bed, cleaned the floor and thought to myself I'm pooped...sorry no pun intended.
From this point the day took on P is for Patient. After taking C to work, I shopped for an hour at a local store and then back to hang out at her work until she could leave. From there we went to the oral surgeon for the big wisdom teeth day. That is when C became P, the patient. I surely should have taped her, but she would have been p'd at me...so instead I had a few really good laughs and took her home. Now really it didn't all happen this fast. We left home at 7:30am and came back at 1:30pm. After a chocolate milkshake, some P....yep P is for Pain Medication, off to bed she went so I could P as in Post!
The End......

Happy Birthday Zoey!!!!! and more

First news....our little spitfire Zoey turns 4 today....
Second....when I ask for chocolate you guys provide!!!!! A big Pughug out to Bandit, Paisley & Smokey's mom she sent me this amazing chocolate from Daffin's......woohoo...guess what I had for dinner last night??? RMP check out the flyer.....
They seem to make anything chocolate....a future site for Bloggy meetup??????

Lastly, the neck news.....not sure what to report. I have greater mobility turning my head left and right now. I still have pain in the side of my head near the muscle, especially in the morning. It seems to wear off as the day progresses. I have another chiro muscle massage tomarrow morning. I plan on seeing how he thinks things are and then calling my own doctor tomarrow afternoon for a follow-up consult. Not sure how long this is all supposed to last, but I don't want to let the symptoms mask the problem.
Now we're off to take P in for his colonoscopy...woohoo P!!!! This is the 4th time he has had one as his parents both died of colon cancer. I know, I know, none of you are old enough to start having these, but if either one or both of your parents have had colon cancer it increases your risk by 25%! Get checked.

Pain in the neck weekend

This weeked was not one of my best. I started with a stiff neck on Wed. It got worse and finally yesterday I took a trip to Urgent Care. They feel I caught a virus that ended up in my neck muscle???? Huh? I am now on muscle relaxers and pain meds and home from work. P doesn't feel good about the diagnosis and wants me to get an appt. with my "real" doctor. Honestly, I didn't know there were pretend doctors and real ones. I am supposed to do exercises to loosen the muscle, I think I'd rather have a massage.....and that's all I got.

Oh, yeah, almost forgot...we got more than a foot of snow.

Only 5 more weeks until camp opens....

This time of year starts thoughts of returning to camp. There is always discussion around our house about trading our trailor in on a newer model. P took my thoughts seriously yesterday and sent me this photo of a "trailor mansion".......hmmmmmm

It really wasn't quite what I had in mind, although it would make life interesting! Heck the Pugs could each have their own camper!

Ice, Ice, baby

The views out my window this morning.....

I went to my friend's to scrapbook after work last night. P was worried as they were calling for an ice storm. We kept checking out the window, but didn't see much going on. When I went to leave my entire car was encased in ice. It took 15 minutes for the two of us to get the windows 90% cleaned off. The drive home was scary too! I didn't go more that 25mph the whole way. I was very happy to pull into the garage.

My friend had her downstairs remodeled. She has a kitchen area, sleeping area, bathroom, tv area and a HUGE beautiful scrapbooking area. I told her I'm moving in down there!

This morning I helped C get the ice off her car. It took the two of us 1/2 hour. I ended up getting warm water in a pan to free up the windshield wipers. I think I prefer snow.

Tonight it's going to be a book and bed......

A tad bit of the Irish and granny sayings....

Here are some "close-ups" of my St. Paddy's tree decorations. Devil Dog's mom wondered how I have so many decorations with the puggy gang here. This tree is in the front entry porch. There is a doggie gate to prevent the wee furry ones from coming out here. Funny though, they don't really bother with it too much even when they pass by on the way outside. Now maybe if there were doggie treats hanging from it.....hmmmmm.....is there a holiday that would allow a tree of doggie treats???? I'll have to think on that one for sure.
I was thinking this morning about how gray it is outside after our beautiful sunny day yesterday. Whenever it is like this I think of my grammy's response to someone complaining about the weather...."did you thank God for the sunshine yesterday?" I find myself repeating little things my grammy's and mom used to say to me. When you really wanted something my other grammy used to say "If it's not worth asking for it's not worth having". Anyone out there got any good granny sayings?????
