Run free little Tuni
The sad thing about our Pugs is that they can't stay with us forever. I started blogging in 2005. Sequoia and Petunia joined the blogging world in 2007 and we have watched the antics, the move, the new baby, and now sweet little Tuni's passing. It sure doesn't get any easier and it seems after so many years of knowing these little Puggies, so many are crossing that bridge lately.
We had the pleasure of meeting Jenn and the girls when we visited Virginia a couple of Falls ago. Those of you that haven't met them in person Tuni was SO TINY!!! She bumbled around the beach that day and you couldn't help but love her!
Please stop over and give Jenn and her family some cyber hugs! Run free little Tuni!!!!!

Rent me...
Thursday evening on my drive home from work I was anticipating a quiet evening of sewing. When I pulled in the driveway I heard the lawnmower...or what should have been the lawnmower starting. Except it was not starting, nor would it. I looked at P and said "it's time". Off to HD we headed to purchase the lawnmower that we had looked at in the Spring, when we knew we really needed it, but were putting it off with all the other spending we had done this year!!! He picked it out and after some haggling about getting one down from storage, etc. we headed to the parking lot to load it on the truck....except, the darn thing was about 2 inches too long for our truck! Ugh.
Of course my brilliant mind was working overtime and I announced to all, why not rent the HD truck???? Ahhhh, brilliant!!!
So back inside I went, paid my $19.99 and they loaded it up. We drove the 8.2 miles back home. Yes, we had to keep track because there is some technicality of putting in one gallon of gas for every 10 miles driven!
We, or should I say P backed into our yard and dropped it off.
Isn't it pretty???? Oh, wait should a lawnmower be considered pretty? I announced to P "Happy Father's Day"!
Back we went to HD via the gas station. The most fun? We got to drive through Lowes parking lot!!! I REALLY wanted to have P stop and take a quick photo of the truck by the Lowe's sign but he wouldn't! We made it back to the store in 65 minutes with 10 whole minutes to spare for the rental time. We got home at 9:30p.m. and that sewing? It didn't happen, but the lawn looks good!

Take a seat
P has always had a strong dislike to the wicker furniture I had at camp. His main complaint was how much room it took up when it was put away at the end of the season. So with the new camper I threw in the towel and gave C all my wicker. She of course was happy as a clam to have it all. I was getting used to having only the table and chairs on the porch, but really wanted additional seating so I took P to BB&B to look at a set of folding chairs. He deemed them "cheap as hell" and "too low" and informed me he like a different set.
Funny this set has more pieces than the old wicker set....hmmmm, interesting. Anyhow, last Saturday afternoon I knew he was struggling between putting the furniture together or going fishing. Being the wonderful, supportive wife I am, I told him to get the hell out go fishing, I can handle putting the furniture together.
Then I looked at the instructions....
and all the pieces and felt a little sick....
but managed to get it all together with no extra parts!!!
and it even looks just like the stuff on the box!!!

Hank gets his wings
Please raise a glass of PBR in honor of Hank today. Sadly he passed away, but runs free with those that have passed before him. Hugs to his family at this sad time. If you can please leave them a kind message.
I have this picture on the wall of my office and it saddens me to see how many little furry ones in it have already gone in the short time since it was taken. Each one takes a little piece of us with them. Bless them all.

1000 Pugs Photoshoot
So our trip to MPF had come to an end, but what better way to end than our 1000 Pugs photoshoot!!!
Vinny and Stewie were signed up, but sadly Kiki couldn't be part of this as she is not 100% Pug! Shhh, don't tell her! Our location was theNorth Point Light Station. We were thrilled as we love lighthouses and have visited many over the years.
Amanda has a real way with the dogs. Stewie was in love with her and that magic treat bag she had. She said she was happy to have such a great model for her first appointment of the day!
We can't wait to see all the photos. The 1000 Pugs book is going to be an amazing collection and we are thrilled that so many of our friends are also in it!!!
Next year for our trip to MPF we are going to make sure to carve out time to visit this beautiful location in Milwaukee again!!! It was just beautiful and we were sorry to bid it all farewell.
We were slightly anxious by the time we arrived because we had some
issues with Milwaukee Monday morning traffic! We managed to get there
before 8:30 a.m. and headed in to wait. I guess I took "headed in" very literally because I entered the roadway and ended up here! Seriously I ended up where I knew I shouldn't be. I looked around, took the loop and went back up by the lighthouse to park! Phew.
While we waited to Amanda and Puglet to arrive we entertained ourselves with our own photo taking

The last afterparty in Milwaukee
After the festivities of Pugfest lots of people left straight from the event, but we stayed over another night. Jess and Cindy came to our room for cake. That cake that we were eatting for three days and still did not finish! We donned the party hats, but the Pugs were too pooped to party!
After they left we got as much as we could packed up. Monday morning would be our 1000 Pugs photoshoot and the big trip home!

The Race Is On!
I entered Miss Kiki in the Pug Races at Pugfest. Tim Boostrom gallantly volunteered to put her in the start box. No easy task I'm sure!!!
Guess she heard this was only the first race, with semi-finals coming up!
Semi-finals she got moved to box 6 and had NO clue where I was despite my SCREAMING. I should have told Tim to give her a good push!
She came in last and sadly did not make the finals. That's okay Kiki we'll nail it next year!
She started in box 2 and had a good take on where I was and that she wanted to be there too! |
The others were hot on her tail...well, except for the two in back checking the start boxes out! |
Run Kiki! That little black Pug is hot on your tail! |
Ahhh, she wins by a head length! |
Don't worry mama has you! |
Worried, very worried! |
Come on Kiki smile! |
