Where's Clover?

Everyone at our house was worried and looking for Clover...

See how worried they look?

Marty sure looks worried.

Chloe looks worried (or hungry?).

Zoey is worried.

Even Rosie is worried...wait, this isn't Rosie! It's Buster the cat, he says don't worry...Clover is fine and is just getting stuff done. She'll be back!

Now where the heck is Rosie????????

Remember this photo?

Well it won me this!!!!

Received a phone call from a weekly paper that I won first prize! Honestly, I entered on the very last day and had forgotten even doing it! The picture was in the paper with big congratulations and I didn't even see it!
So now I'm the proud owner of a new digital camera. I do like my Kodak one, but it is big and clunky and recently jumped out of my hands and now the flash is permanently open.

Cards and trucks and trucks on cards...

Sandy over at Ragus Pugs sent me this cute card! She is so sweet. She does such a great job with her cardmaking.
and speaking of her card making... a while back she showed a stamp she had recently purchased of an old truck with all sorts of little stamps to personalize with. I saw that and knew I needed cards from that stamp. Here is the set of cards she made for me:
Here is our antique truck! See the resemblence?? I am giving these cards to P for the different holidays and them framing them for his office. I think they are ADORABLE.
As you can see we've had this truck for awhile. Notice C and R in the back? Just a little younger than they are now! Please disregard the awful look on my face!
She knows I love flamingos too. LOL

Pay It Forward

Rachel over at Ladypug Mugs did this post earlier this month. Now they are busy bees over there. Be sure to pop over and visit Rachel and Winston and Clemintine! Check out her links for Foodie Friday and her etsy shop!

We were lucky enough to be one of the first three to comment and ask to participate and yesterday our Pay It Forward package arrived.....

I really enjoyed her note about her "sewing" skills! A close up of the cute apron! She even sewed on cute little buttons for eyes!
She included the treat recipe....clever, clever stamping .... lady - pug.......

Now, as a lucky recipient of the exchange, here are the details.....

"The exchange focuses on doing an act of kindness without expecting anything in return other than that the recipient will, in their turn, pass the kindness along and 'pay it forward' in their own way. This is how it works...I am going to send something to the first 3 blog owners who wants to take part. In turn you will then post about this on your blog, link to me, then send something to the first three people who sign up to play along through your blog. There are no cost restraints, BUT don't go crazy! The little something you send can be something you made, bought, were given or found. No biggie, just a gift that will make the person smile. Maybe something unique from where you live? And, remember that kindness does not have to involve money; there are untold ways to help others every single day, everywhere you go - just look around."
So, tell me, who are the first three in on this?

Other stuff I've been up to lately

Thanks for all your nice comments about the dresses. Sorry Girlville the pink gingham is sold! Hopefully I'll get more on there in the next few day.
We're off to the vet for Zoey's yearly exam. She has something on the white of her eye I want the vet to check and chronic bad ear. Guess she'll be "working" with me until lunch time today when I can bring her back home!

Busy

We've actually had a couple of sunny days around here! COLD, but sunny! I was lucky enough to get laundry done, floors washed, vacumned and even got some sewing done for esty. Hopefully get some stuff listed by Sunday night!

This afternoon C and I went for a walk. Too far for the Pug crew, so when I got back I did the unthinkable and took the four of them out - alone. I kept envisioning myself in a heap on the ground with leashes wrapped around my body and Pugs running in wild abandon. Marty did pull completely out of my hand and run towards a couple walking...such a BARKY GUY! Luckily I had decided to come home through the baseball diamond behind us and we were not on the road side of the fence!

Speaking of Marty he is doing very well. His coughing has been practically NILL and no signs of any trouble from his surgery. We'll be making his party plans for his big 10th birthday on May 1st!

Recent acquisitions -ya' know like I need more Pug stuff!

A person I know decided to rehome her Pugs (another entire story) and along with her Pugs her entire collection of Pug stuff. I bought a few things from her...

A lamp... A clock (this is the one where the tile in the clock changes for each season)
and my favorite, this beautiful Pug print

It's raining - INSIDE

It's been raining a lot around here lately...in more ways than one! Tonight I thought I heard horrible rain outside. I walked past the laundry room and got worried that something had gone wrong with washer...except, the rushing of water was not coming from that side of hall. It seems that it was the basement, which can only mean one thing.....the water heater.

Now I should have known the water heater was going to break, because my dad just mentioned our water heaters at breakfast last week. My dad is a plumbing and heating contractor. He is semi-retired. We have a rule. Don't mention your water heater in my dad's presence...or...your water WILL break! So when dad mentioned MY WATER HEATER...I said SHHHHHHHHHHH! But thankfully my dad IS a plumber, so while the water heater will throw us back a nice $350...the service call???? free....
Did I mention the narrow, steep, staircase to my basement?

Sewing Big Dog Style

Had to work on some custom orders this week....big dog style. I have never made a dress for a lab before! It was HUGE. Then a bowtie set for another lab...and a Perisan cat!
And a tuxedo shirt with cummerbund and changeable bowties for another lab.......

It felt like I was dressing humans!
