Boating with 8

Now we really didn't have all 8 pugs swimming at once...we're not that crazy! Plus you all know most Pugs sink! We have life jackets for our four, but still to keep track we put only one or two in at a time. We don't have "in water" pics...because there was SO MUCH WATER....and so much Pug hair.....yikes! On Sunday P was wondering how to get all the hair from the boat...I told him to drive real fast around the lake and let it all blow out. I'm not sure how that worked.

The Weekend..Pug Style

My crazy Puf Mama friend came to camp Saturday with her gang of four...yep four plus four.....eight Pugs at camp! I guess we created our own Meet*Up Group...maybe we'll call ourselves the *Lake*Ontario*Pug*Meet*Up*!!! LOL Thanks L for the photos.

Anyhow L owns Rosie's mama and Rosie's 1/2 sister. This bunch has no trouble getting along and are always happy to be together. Dixie and Rosie get in some sisterly kisses.
and some not so sisterly sniffs....
P gives Chloe some lovin'.
My Zoey...how I love that face!
Good boy Marty.....
Our friend at camp...surrounded by Pugs....she owns a Yorkie!
What a handsome guy!
Spanky and Dakota.....
The weather wasn't the greatest, but we had a great day. Now that we know we can "handle" the big group we're looking forward to a sleep-over! Honestly, you would not have known we had 8 Pugs there! We had lots of neighbors stop over and they were like "eight???"....
Stay tuned tomarrow for our excursion boating and swimming with the eight of them!!!!

Marty likes the leopard bed too...

Marty thought the new bed was pretty cool too. For those that asked...yes, it is a platform bed and it came with the bedding. It has a metal frame underneath and the bedding even had velcro to prevent it from slipping off! The whole thing only cost $22, which I thought was great!

It's funny to see how the dogs react to different beds. One of these days I'm going to put all their beds....I think there are 5, in one room and see what they do. Maybe I'll put the webcam on them. Of course this will all have to wait until Buster is no longer with us. He sure loves to pee and poop on the dog beds....

and the laundry, and the bench, and the carpet, and in the bathtub....and on and on....

The cat has gone crazy and sleepy Pugs

Our last remaining cat, Buster has officially lost his marbles. Yes, it is truly official. He TOTALLY refuses to use the litter box. TOTALLY. The box is in the same safe place, totally clean...nope, won't use it. He has decided he wants to go outside....although he is not an outside cat. He is 17, I'm sure no turning back the clock for him. Of recent when he can not get outside he has taken to going the bathroom in bizarre places...to name a few..the bathtub, bench in kitchen.....sigh..... Also, let me tell you he STINKS.

So this week he had used the nice, big, red, dog bed to go the bathroom on. I took the cover off and since it was so big used the soak cycle, twice, to get the entire inside part washed. The cover was washed and everything got dried and the world was good. We put it on the floor and the Pugs were ever so happy. Bedtime came we all went up to bed and in the morning found that Buster had peed ALL OVER the bed. So now the sad little Puggies are using their smaller beds and doubling up, until we decided where to go from here.

This is the view from the dining room, where I am right now, with two watchful, sleepy girls just beyond. Zoey must be tired, she is not reacting to the road work outside our house...Chloe is keeping watch...

I guess she decided to get back to a good nap too....
The other two? Well they're on another little bed. You can barely see Marty behind Rosie.
Pretty much always within site of mama.

Mama's little furry helper

Cleaning comes to an end, when the help gets sleepy.....

Chloe finds a perfect use for a roll of paper toweling and it sure isn't cleaning up spilled water.

No sense bothering her......

Chloe...and the new bed

I found yet another cute bed last week on my lunch hour. This bed belongs in a corner, which is here it will be in my home office. The Pugs have each taken a turn in it at different time. The most that have been in there at once is two. I usually only allow one or two in there at a time anyhow, kind of a special treat. Girlville I know if you had a Pug you'd have this bed too!

Marty

Many of you remember the story of how I got Marty I was told the family (his third) that had him could not keep him as he had tried to bite their youngest boy twice. The day I met them the mother let him kiss all the boys goodbye and as they drove off he stood at the window of my car and cried....I cried too. Anyhow that was many moons ago now. Our friends at camp have their grandsons visiting. D wanted to come in and see the Pugs. Well he came in sat in the chair and Marty RAN across the sofa, jumped on the chair, got next to him and kissed him! He also sat nicely for a photo! I'm thinking little D reminded Marty of some boys in his past....I wonder if any of those boys think of him???? We made a fire that evening and Marty stayed on the screen porch. We let D go in and out to play with him. I was nearby to keep an eye on him. He asked at one point why Marty had a curly tail? I told him his tail was curly because he was very happy.

As the evening progressed D continued his Marty visits. All the sudden he yells "Marty is not happy!" I thought the worst..oh no did Marty bite him????? So I ran in and asked him what happened. His reply "His tail is straight". Gotta love it!

Phil has the day off today, so he left for camp after work yesterday. Because he has more room and it was so hot he talked me into taking the gang. He called to tell me when he got there he asked the kids if they could name the Pugs? The only name they could remember? Marty.

of boating, sisters, stones, and painted rocks....

The husband and his sisters who visited us this past week at camp.....
The opening to Lake Ontario from our bay....notice that it is not presently an opening! We had stormy weather last Wednesday and there were 6 to 8 foot waves on the lake. When we went to show P's sisters the lake access this is what we saw. Hopefully the dredging equipment is back in there today cleaning it back out. It is normally 50 feet wide and around 8 feet at the deepest.

More water days....

R loves to wakeboard. He doesn't get much time to come to camp, so he made the most of it. This was Bailey's first boat ride. She did fine, but was a little worried about her dad.
"Heh, R, why are you smiling?"
Don't you know there's snapping turtles in this water?
and these big fish (with teeth) too!

Why does vacation time pass more quickly than work time?

Our vacation started with the party at our SIL's. Being a fisherman P has a real dislike of waverunners. We have had some bad encounters with them, but like everything else a few bad operators make it bad for everyone else. Anyhow, he obviously managed to "like" them for a bit!

Here he is taking my nephew D for a ride..... heh, you hate waverunners....get in here.....
A group of us took a ride on my BIL's party boat. Sorry no pics, there were 22 of us on there, lots of little ones, had to pay attention. While we were out there R and H took their turn on the waverunner.

The girls were having fun...here is H my future DIL, C, and L my youngest niece.
R and H wanted a pic of themselves.

My Model

Roxy asked if I could post a pic of Zoey modeling the dress from my previous post. I usually select her to model because she is the easiest to get to behave....lol...... Although....sometimes she has a different idea.....
of what I want a picture of..........

I have not left the country...really

Sometimes I can't figure out how I had time to raise children...real ones...human ones....

I have been busy with details of our big Pug event in September, which seems far away, but we all know how fast that time goes. I am also secretary of the "social" group at our campground. I started a website for better communication and am doing a monthly newsletter. The sign up on the website is slow, but steady and I just finished my second month newsletter. Glad I don't run a newspaper. No wonder they're so many ads....

Anyhow, this past weekend it rained...I mean REALLY rained. We are now going to put gutters on the screen room. The rug was wet almost across the entire floor. Ugh. The furry ones are hanging in there. They love weekends best when we are together practically 24/7. We're coming up on our vacation week and are really looking forward to that.

C is going to do my hair tonight. I might take pics...might...
