Kitten Post

This is my DIL's mom's kitten...she is crazy. But then I do recall that all kittens are a bit crazy. I tried to hold her, but she was way more interesting in climbing, jumping and biting. They also have her sister, who spent the time hiding. I thought maybe being with them would make me want a kitten, but it didn't. At one point in my life I had 7 cats...all at the same time, yep me, PUNCHY had 7 cats! I know most of you just can't believe that. But being with this kitten just made me want another Pug...heck, I ALWAYS want another Pug. I wonder if I'll ever have 7 Pugs????

Marty's bad weekend

Rosie wants to tell everyone about Marty's bad weekend. Zoey would rather forget the whole darn thing!

Everyone planned on having a good time playing outside, going for walks, and maybe even a boat ride....

but....poor Marty was sick. It all started on Thursday with him having ****dia****a - ugh, even the word is gross...plus Rosie doesn't know how to spell it. Besides the potty problem, he was not eatting...anything. Mom tried ground beef, yougurt, treats, cottage cheese, regular cheese, cake, more treats, kibble, scrambled eggs. Wow, us girls wished we could eat the stuff she was throwing in the garbage!

We all left for camp and dreamed of mom's birthday cake, but all mom could think about was Marty. She was sure he was full of cancer and she was crying. He did not eat on Friday or Saturday and continued with his potty problem. Mom said she didn't care what was going on at camp, she was taking Marty home to the emergency vet. Everyone there got pretty nervous because of the surprise party they had planned for mom. Finally on Saturday night Marty ate some of dad's beefstick. Normally mom would NEVER allow this, but she was so happy he ate anything! On Sunday morning mom made him rice and a little kibble and he gobbled it up! He still had the potty problem, but was at least eatting. By Monday he was back to normal and mom was sure happy about it! Good thing none of us girls got it!!!

Birthday Weekend Recap

My birthday started out on a down note. My day was "off" and I was feeling pretty glum. I was missing my mom. I met my sister at her grave and put on flowers. When I get home I had myself a good cry and then we left for camp. P was in a rush and there didn't seem to be time for dinner. Both R and C were working, so they weren't around either. At camp we settled in and P got occupied talking with neighbors. By the time he came in I was really upset. Poor guy didn't know what hit him! A bit later some friends stopped by and gave birthday wishes, then our other friends up there had us over for coffee. P had gotten a small cake and I felt a tad better about it all. I'm really not sure why this birthday bothered me...getting older....whatever, I just couldn't put my finger on it.
Saturday C came to camp and P helped our friends with their new screenroom. They were able to get the top done during the day and Saturday night I called Bingo. It was a great turnout. After Bingo we had a campfire and lots more laughs. Sunday they went to work on the screen sections. R called and said he had the day off and was going to visit. A bit later my dad and A showed up. Also PJ came in. I was getting anxious as I thought they were all planning on staying overnight and we had been invited to dinner with friends. P asked my dad to go to dinner, but they wanted to get home and work on their veggie garden. C, PJ, and R said to go ahead to dinner, they'd go into town and find something to do. They left and I quickly got changed. Our friends picked us up and off to dinner we went. I had never been to the place before and joked about needing reservations. It was a rather "hole in the wall" kind of place. When I walked in I look into the bar area and couldn't seem to find anyone. Someone said...oh, there they are....when I looked over all I heard was "surprise"!!!! There were all my friends and my kids! I was indeed surprised! Those girls REALLY pulled off that surprise on me!

Off to the races....

Sunday was our annual birthday trip to the races. I was happy to see that this particular race track has opened an adoption center for horses! I tried to talk P into getting Zoey a horse, but he said no way. I mean we already have a barn!
Anyhow, I'm not big into betting or wasting money gambling, but always spend a little here. I lost $25 in the slot machines, thanks to being dumb and not understanding them! Then upstairs for lunch and the horse race part. I usually bet the long shot as I think every horse should have someone believe in them??? I also go by stable colors and their birthdate. I know VERY SCIENTIFIC. Anyhow, I did well on the horse part and for the day only came out -$10.00. All in all not too bad.

Career Change?

I will never be getting a job as the general contractor on a job site.

Yesterday I drove this....

and bagged this....

to put a new roof on this.....

I've made 4 trips to Home*Depot, more telephone calls than I can count, more complaining than I want to do, have had things delivered early to the wrong place, tenants are crabby, Pugs are starving for attention, P had to take a day's vacation, I have to deliver workers lunch today, I'm tired, there is more clean up AND I WANT TO WATCH LOST TONIGHT!

PS I do have to admit driving that big butt truck was fun!

Happy Mother's Day...

Hope everyone had a great day!

Our walk went well yesterday! We made $1,748 for abused and neglected animals! I think this was a great start being our first year holding a walk! After the walk we headed off to camp, where we indured HORRIBLE weather. We helped neighbors with a new deck, got treated to dinner, then headed to bed and listened to howling winds. Today C and P came to visit for Mother's Day. Our son was working and had hoped to see me tonight, but it didn't work out. When I got home and went to log onto my laptop I had all sorts of issues. My Norton was disabled (not by me) and missing a dll file. Not sure where it all came from as I had been on the computer at camp with no issues this afternoon. We managed to get the Norton fixed, but the dll is a microsoft*issue...ugh.

This is one mother who needs to get to bed...tomarrow at 7am I'm getting a crown! Nope, not a jewel incrusted one....on Friday my tooth broke too! What a few days for sure!!!!

I guess they're hungry?

I have to say this is NOT a "staged" photo. While I was getting ready for work this morning, I came out of the bathroom and saw this. Not sure who the smart one is that lined the bowls up? I love how they all hang out together! My little pack of Pugs!!!!

Holly Baby gets her wings...........

With a heavy heart I see that sweet Holly has gotten her wings. HUGE hugs go out to Sandy and AM. I know their hearts are heavy right now.

I am proud to say that Holly got to have her own Punchy dress this past Easter....such a sweet little Pug. She started her life in a puppymill. Southeast Pug Rescue saved her and AM adopted her. When AM was moving to Korea, Sandy took over her care.

God Bless you Sandy for taking this oldies but goodies under your care!

I'd rather be here....

I'm finding myself going in a thousand different directions again this Spring. It's always easier just to go to camp! The yardwork and cleaning can be accomplished in under and hour. Not the same at home for sure. Sadly I feel like this summer is going to fly by with all the stuff going on....

Weekend - cake cake cake

the all about cake weekend....

Saturday the Pugs and I drove to meetup from camp. It's the same distance as from home, just more "rural". The theme was Cinco de Mayo. We also celebrated the birthday of Princess, a rescue Pug who turns 10 today and of course Marty got his birthday hugs in too! It's always fun to know other people who are slightly "off about Pugs". P & G have had Princess for about a year. I think they have been planning her birthday for 6 months! I made Princess a birthday dress ....

there was this human cake....

and these doggie cakes

I think Zoey gained 2 pounds.

We got back to camp late afternoon and some friends came up for a visit and a campfire. They shared in a birthday party for Marty...

and the kids re-dressed so they could see them in their outfits.

hmmm, they look like they might be in a Mexican jail??
