The office closing of camp was Sunday. We drove up late afternoon Saturday as we were invited to friends for a final campfire and eats. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate, the wind was blowing and it was raining....sigh. We did go to our friends and had an enjoyable "last evening". Sunday morning we got up early, made breakfast and started the process of "closing up". Closing usually only takes around an hour, but we had several friends we have made this summer "stop over" for well wishes and goodbyes. I think we spent more time talking than working! P decided to do some preventative maintenance and chalked around anything on the roof that could possibly leak. The water lines have to be cleared of water and antifreeze is pumped through the system. All the food and drinks that weren't used are packed up along with cleaning supplies, and health/beauty supplies. It was nice this year to have the shed. All the outdoor furniture, picnic table, grill, #74 (remember him?) all of it goes into the shed. Then the "slide room" is brought in which makes the rv look very small! Once we've checked and re-checked, and then checked again, it all got locked up. The pugs are always a little confused by the process. This was Marty's first year and well, he's Marty so he just went along with the flow. We went on the beach for a final look. Funny as we live on this same lake but somehow it's different here! A few rocks are gathered, a sigh, and home for go. It's much easier getting camp ready for winter than home!

Oh how sad, but I'm glad yall got to enjoy the summer. That looks like so much fun.
It's funny to read everyone's "goodbye to summer" stories because I've never really been through that before. Here in Florida it's like, "Merry Xmas! I got ya a sweater that you can maybe use next month!". I wish I lived somewhere more seasonal :(
Hope winter's not too bad for you this year!

Oh, that's so sad. Too bad it can't be summer all year long! But then, it might not be as special to you.
It really is so pretty there. It's hard for me to imagine such a short season up there because it's hot/warm her for so long. I love the sign in the sand and rocks.
It's been so fun to hear about yours and lisa's campsites! That's not done a lot down here (probably the hot hot weather). but it sounds like such a great idea year after year!
Oh, that looks like it would have been a really fun place to spend the summer. It is getting cold here too. Sigh. Winter's coming. yuk.

that's so sad! is summer really over? it seems like y'all just went over and opened camp last week.
We also closed up camp (Oct. 6th). Good thing you did the preventative maintenance. We found a leak while closing up and Tony and my son went up last weekend and did some extra sealing. We'll probably have to get some work done where the leak has done some minor damage. Tony's thinking maybe we should do a trade up... Hmm, maybe a new trailer in the future. Somehow Mr. Creative will fix the trailer and change his mind before next spring but a girl can dream can't she?
We've enjoyed reading about your camping fun. Your campground is such a lovely place. Sigh.
