Happy Birthday to my dad

Today is my dad's birthday. He turned 74.....I look at him and REALLY can't believe it, but then, I'm not 6 anymore, am I? A came up with the idea of a surprise. P, my sister, her boyfriend and two of my dad's lifelong friend's and their wives all went to a local restaurant and surprised him. This is his 3rd surprise party. I gave him surprise parties at 50 and 70! Seems he is easy to surprise! My dad sure deserves happiness. He had a tough life growing up and has worked VERY hard his entire life. He graduated from high school at 16, while working my grandparents farm before and after school. My dad is an inspiration and everyone that meets him loves him. I sure do too.

Pug Tree

We usually put up our beautiful white tree in the dining room. It is beautiful...but lots of work. I decided since the Christmas Spirit was hiding, that maybe this wasn't the year for the white tree...so I put the Pug tree in the dining room....this tree is "all Pug", already put together and no work....just plug it in! Maybe we'll find that spirit yet!

Project One - Done

P talked me into this dark green rug. I have hated it. Every little thing shows up on this rug. Plus there is so much wood trim in our dining room it always seems so darn dark. So, since R needed a rug for his apartment, I talked P into letting R have THIS RUG...and

I got the cream rug I have been wanting....

I'm REALLY loving the new rug. It really brightens up the room...and putting it down forced me into moving my sewing back up to the sewing room...and dusting....wow.....really needed dusting!

I think I missplaced Christmas????

Not sure where my head might be these days, but clearly, it is not on Christmas looming around the corner. There is one tree up, when there is usually five. The candle lights are in the windows, but NO outside lights up yet. R has (almost) moved into his new apt. Remember the last time he was home? Thankfully this time was a bit more organized and except for the fish tank spewing 10 gallons of water all over the dining room, rather uneventful. There are still boxes in the garage and the "temp" fish tank is still bubbling away in the dining room. The BIG 100 gallon tank is sitting in the den, and the little "traveling" tank is empty on the dining room floor. The Pugs seem to be VERY happy that Bailey has gone. She is a sweet, well mannered dog....just BIG and clumsy and more than the "little fat, furry ones" can handle....and the cat, well we won't discuss the cat...torturing Bailey every chance he got.

THEN it seems that P and I are feeling like doing some Winter "fix-up" to the house. We purchased new flooring for the main bathroom, along with new trim paint, and new nobs for the vanity. Tonight we bought a new rug for the dining room, as we have decided to give R the dark green rug (I NEVER WANTED DARK GREEN). Then the best thing of all is the purchase of the mantle/electric fireplace for the den. Clearly, there will be NO exchange of gifts between us...not that it bothers me, now if I can keep him from buying! Anyhow, I have great aspirations getting all this house nonsense done by Saturday. Then maybe we can "get to Christmas"....

And, just so you guys don't think I only care about sewing for Pugs....here is Freida the Doberman, in her reversible coat. Doesn't she look grand????

Holiday Meetup

Duncan says...this place is crazy, I'm going to hide in here for awhile. Duncan is the Pug L and I rescued last month. I sure wanted to keep him! Blitz is wondering how to get enough cash to buy some raffle tickets....

Oh, that Zoey she sure is a beggar. She went from table to table..hoping for a scrap!

Sweet Darla....her daddy is the friend who died last month. His whole family came to meetup, which was in rememberance of him! We know he was up there saying...."you guys are so crazy!"
I made Darla a dress for the day. Her mama was very thankful for all our love and kindness.

Some Pugs modeling dresses they bought from my shop! I love happy customers!
Another sweetie in a dress from my shop.

Oh, look...here comes Santa...heh, Santa, where's your hat?????
Heh, these little Puggies seem to recognize Santa...hmmmm, I wonder who it could be?

Exhausted from all that partying....

There was a great photographer there. I am so excited that P and I got a "family" photo done of us and the Pugs! 16 x 20!!!! I may have officially gone over the "pug mama" edge!

Catching up post....

We had a lot going on during November, but nablopomo and the Pug's Closet took over posting. Here's a brief look at what was going on....

I treated myself to a couple of wins on ebay....

A friend and I drove 3 hours to meet a family giving up their Pug. He was awesome!!!! I had been speaking with his owners for a couple of weeks and we found him a wonderful new home. I really wanted him...like you know I want them all!!! P said...keep driving.....

Isn't he the cutest???!!!!!

We traveled to some friend's from camp and met up with 2 other couples for Mexican!

I had two of these......

S is a crazy guy, as you can see.

We all stayed overnight at their house and had a lot of laughs. They live in a very woodsy area and it was SO quiet.

R is temporarily home with his BIG DOG BAILEY....

His apartment just didn't work out, nor did the roommates, but he made the year on the lease and is now looking for new accomodations. I hope the new one has a better screen....

Five dogs is a lot.....

Rosie would like Bailey to go home......now.....please......

We also had a thank-you party for the gang that puts together our Pug events. We even invited non-Pug brothers and sisters.....

This little one needs to lay off the coffee!

P and Chloe hanging out.

Duncan the rescue was even there with his new mama. I was very happy to see this little guy again.

There was even time for play outside in the snow.

Rosie loves the snow....
