I hate tax time!

Darn, I did our taxes tonight and I feel like the seven dwarfs..."I owe, I owe, so back to work I go"! Things are still a little off this year with the hubby receiving severence pay from his job loss last year. That and loosing kids as deductions - ugh!

Anyhow, here is updated photo of Rosie..... Her grama bought all the babies "going home" sweaters! Isn't she adorable!!!!

The hole in my heart

Tonight my cousin stopped by with a cd he made for me. He has been copying his parent's home movies before they completely deteriorate. The cd he made for me consisted of movies taken by his dad (my great-uncle). There were movies of me from a few months old to age 8....cousins, pets, parties, new cars and more. The quality was not great...heck some of the ones copies were 49 years old... so precious. I watched those movies and cried my eyes out...watching my mom, grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles....all gone. Watching myself at age 5 teaching my cousin age 2 how to do the twist, birthdays, picnics, boating...all there. I can't help but realize how lucky those babies born in the 1980's and after are...their movies have sound...they can hear those precious voices, voices I can only hear in my head. How fragile life is, how we live each day and barely see the time racing around us...until it is behind us. 4 generations of family, laughter, fun....where have they all gone. Theres a hole in my heart......

Snow Pugs

It was freezing when we went out this morning. The girls wanted to run across the yard, like always...crazy things. Coming back across the yard, they both started lifting their legs and standing like.."help me", then they sat down in the freezing snow! I coaxed them the last 20 feet and when they came in they stayed in their coats for a while to warm up. I guess it was only 14 degrees! It did warm up to 42 this afternoon and the sun came out. Crazy weather.

Who out there wanted snow???

For those of you out there that wanted snow...come and get it! This was my drive in this morning...at least the first 10 minutes of it. It was snowing less as I traveled south. The drive to work is only 20 minutes, with no expressway travel. Looking at these photos I think it looked like the movie The Shining! It was freezing out too. We have been spoiled by the lack of snow and everyone has to learn to drive all over again. It is supposed to go back up to 40 degrees tomarrow..oh good, my favorite, slush! The girls run outside pee and run right back up on the deck. Even with their hooded coats on...those poor little feet. They are such babies.

My turn at the computer....finally

Now that college classes have resumed and the hubby works straight third shift, it is a fight for the computer. Seems every time someone gets on, the hubby wants on too. He sits in the chair next to the desk and stares you down until you give in and sign off. I hate that! He just loves surfing ebay and driving us all nuts.

Anyhow, not I got my turn and have nothing exciting to talk about. I went out to dinner tonight with an old co-worker and then came home and cooked dinner...does that make sense?

Here is a link to a novel by Alison Pace that will be coming out on May 2, 2006, anyone interested in hearing more about the book, go to:

http://www.alisonpace.com/pughill/index.html

I'll have to add it to my Pug library.

Meet Bailey Rose

Three Weeks Old Today!

So what better way to decide on your new baby, but to climb right in the pen with them. Okay, I really wanted all five, but well that would be selfish and besides I can't think of any way I could ride in the car with 7 pugs on my lap!

We (or should I say I) ended up choosing the baby that we picked the first day we saw them at one day old. Oh, she is a sweetheart. We can't wait to bring her home to meet her new big sisters, Chloe and Zoey.

We also videotaped today and placed it on the big screen tv for the girls. Zoey, of course knows the adult Pugs and when you hear me call them on the tape, she started barking her head off.

Bling

These are some sweet, rhinestone slide letters I purchased to make name collars for the girls. The one with Rosie on it is actually a bracelet. This will probably fit for a week! HAHA I've been trying to locate collars to fit these on, but so far have only been able to find ones that are 12". Seeing Pugs have fairly - large necks...I'm still looking. If anyone knows of a place I can get these, please let me know!

New Baby Photos

We couldn't ask for our baby to come from a better place. They are so loved and well taken care of...look at them grow!

You never know where you'll see a Pug

Check out this ebay listing the hubby came across today: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4605470222&ssPageName=ADME:B:EF:US:1

Pugs...everywhere

Zoey was sitting by my stove and I realized that my towel has Pugs on it and the magnet on my fridge is almost as big as she is! She used to bark at the magnet, but finally gave up about it.

The puppies are growing...here is a photo of them. Seems one is always facing the opposite as the others. We will be picking ours out this weekend. I imagine it will be no easy task. They now have their eyes fully open and play...adorable for sure!

Martin Luther King Day - yahoo another day off!

Thankfully our law office takes all the holidays off. IF the Courts are closed so are we! Makes it nice after the holidays to have that one Monday off in January and February!

The hubby had his work Holiday Party this past weekend. One of the events at this party was "The Newlywed Game". They picked four couples...and you guessed it we got chosen. Well, the hubby was astonished at my answers..when asked "ladies, what is one thing your husband does that you hate?" my reply....leaves his underwear on the bathroom floor. I thought he would pass out! It was so hilarious and he was mortified. There was one grand prize winner for a $50 dinner certificate and they gave the rest of us $25 dinner certificates for making fools out of ourselves. Everyone kept coming up to me for the rest of the night telling me what a good sport I was and how they would have hated doing it. I thought it was fun...heck, I don't work with those people!!!! One person at each table also got to take home the centerpiece. Made for a nice addition to my kitchen table.

Yesterday I went to Joann Fabrics and bought new flowers for the wicker planter on my front enclosed porch. I got the planter during the summer and have changed the flowers for summer, fall, Christmas, and now Valentine's Day. I just have to remember to pick the flowers away in a place where I will actually remember and label each container accordingly. I also got a garland of roses to put around front door and red doily hearts to put in the cupola windows. My neighbors requested that I NOT remove the candle lights from the cupola right away. They say it looks very welcoming. I have to figure out some way to have them turn on and off during the daylight hours. In case some of you don't know what a cupola is...it is also called a "widows walk"..basically a small room above the attic with windows on all sides. Ours is only about 6 feet by 8 feet. I used to play up there when I was a kid..I loved it. My kids never went up there. They were too afraid to go thru the attic....ghosts and stuff!

So today I packed away the lighthouse village from our Den and put together the sewing/cutting table my husband got me for Christmas. It is HUGE. I won't be opening that full size in my current sewing space in the office. Guess I'll have to wait for my son to move!

Puppies...almost two weeks old

Some updated puppy photos. They opened their eyes in the past two days. I can't believe how fast they are growing! They are really starting to lighten up too.

I am still trying to figure out 3 how I am going to handle three leashes......

Let sleeping Pugs...........

This is the space in between my cupboards where my dishwasher was. Back before we got Chloe, I had my husband remove the dishwasher. I was constantly redoing the dishes and decided that I really didn't mind washing dishes by hand. Once removed I told him that was where the crate was going to be for my first Pug. After my begging of 6 months that came true. Since neither of the girls slept or stayed in the crate during the day, we took the crate out last summer and replaced with their bedding. Right now my daughter's old comforter is in there with their bed on top that they got for Christmas. Now usually the cat is in there, but today this is where my daughter found them! Their own little Pug cave! Hope they don't get upset when the crate goes back in there for the new puppy!

Speaking of that puppy - no eyes open yet! Darn!

MISSING NEW YORK PUG UPDATE! - Pug has been returned to his owners, thinner, but fine!!!!

Last one in the office is the rotten egg????

Have to love those little faces!

Okay, so today hasn't been the best of days. I am a paralegal and work in a small law office...2 attorneys, 2 paralegals and a receptionist/book-keeper. We previously had 3 paralegals, but one retired, we tried to replace her, that didn't work out and we re-arranged our work and have the 2 of us. The last day of the 2005 work year the other paralegal called me at home (we were let out early) to tell me that she had accepted another position..."what??????". We had Monday off for the holiday, came back I placed the ads in the local legal publication and on a website. Let the interviews begin. I forgot to mention the retired paralegal has been helping out with our overload of work, basically the bosses (there are 2) say call her when you need her. She is the best and a great friend. She got me into scrapbooking. Anyhow, we have set up some interviews and are plodding along and whammy today we find out our receptionist/book-keeper has cancer. Okay, did I mention my other co-worker had breast cancer last year???? Now, I had my own scare with cancer this past Fall (also breast). This woman has "female" cancer and is due to see her surgeon on Monday. I officially told my boss that in order to get through this we WILL be required to drink at work. Now I am not a drinking girl, but I think I CAN become one. Not that things weren't sounding bad enough, the paralegal, whose last day is Friday, says to me..."wow, who would think she would end up with cancer, I mean your the one who has had all the weird symptoms and stuff and she hasn't had anything, isn't that weird that it's her and not you????" Okay, I really wanted to hit this woman at this point. This comment was followed up with "wow, you are in a bad spot here right now, you better get on with hiring someone". Okay bitch, leave already. I'll manage, just leave.

Also, learned today that my son did not get accepted into the college he wanted for Spring term. Seems all that goofing off at community college did not pay off. Now his fiance has moved (today) and he has decided, as of this moment, to return to community college, retake those "F"'s and apply for Fall semester. Meantime, I'm sure his fiance is freaking out to have committed to an apt. off campus, by herself an hour + from here. The best plans go astray. He is still not home from the great move and I can only hope I am sleeping when he arrives..........BLAH.

Today did have some good points. Met the hubby for lunch, made a great meatloaf, hugged those Pugs, and talked to a Pug friend on the phone. Oh and the hubby bought us a new ceiling fan for the bedroom. Seems the one we got 18 years ago, has some problems...you think???? I love the sound of the fan, but let me tell you when the bearings are going it sounds like a motor is hanging over your head...ready to drop. It does not lull you off to sleep!

Potatoe Bug

I bought this dog bed on ebay. It was on ebay as a pillow and I won it for $20.00. When I got it, I thought wow this is a huge pillow. I was constantly moving it from my chair so I could actually sit in the chair. Well, the other day I saw it on one of the links on Merrylog's site....guess what, not a pillow, but a dog bed and it cost $90! So, I decided what the heck, I only paid $20 I'll let the girls sleep on it....well.....Chloe sat on it and turned and turned and turned...and left to...yes, sleep on the floor next to my feet! I think she looks like a potatoe bug from this view...what do you think? She does tend to look worried, doesn't she?

Tour of New York

Today at 8 a.m. we left and took the girls and drove to downstate NY to pick up a motorcycle the hubby bought. Okay, so Mapquest has a few kinks in it. The 2.4 miles with slight left was more like 12 miles on a winding road and then turning right. We were almost to PA. When we got there the guys said we had to drive to another location to get the cycle. Drove there and put it on the trailor, which between loading and talking took another hour. The girls and I were very bored waiting. We took off from there to drive to see the Pug babies. Our time schedule was to arrive there at 11 a.m. At 11:15 a.m. we figured out that we were heading south instead of north...yeah, did hubby say the sun was at his back??? Got ourselves turned around and arrived at 1:30 p.m., with a pitstop for drinks and bathroom break. When we got to our friends we took the Pugs outside for a romp. This was the first time mama Pug got to play with our girls. She liked them fine as long as they stayed AWAY from the puppies. They could walk by, but God help them if they stuck their faces in the pen. We broke up a couple of fights between Zoey our fiesty little girl and mama. They have the same personality and really like each other. I did get to hang out in the pen area and hold the babies. They are one week old today. They have doubled in weight. Their ears are starting to look like little Pug ears, but their eyes are still not open. It is amazing to watch the changes up close. I think our family has a favorite, but I REALLY need to see eyes open! Also, personality. My friend says I should let the girls pick....haha. Chloe would probably run and Zoey would want to play with them all.

We left from their house around 3:30 p.m. and the girls and I napped all the way home and after we got home, we took another nap. All that driving was exhausting. Tomarrow is breakfast with a couple of local Pug friends (No Pugs allowed).

Rain, rain go away

Okay the weather sucks here right now. I am sick of the rain, so I am going to focus on puppies!!!! Aren't they adorable! Isn't it amazing their tails are straight?

I realized today that all those cute little outfits I have made for the girls, now require a co-ordinating baby outfit....what's a crazy Pug mom to do? I have two of everything! My daughter keeps telling me Zoey is going to need therapy as she will be the "middle" child. That soon to be middle child is under my feet as I keyboard.

Our server at work got a virus through Outlook. All our computer guy kept saying was "this is really not good". Anyone else out there have trouble? We heard microsoft was working on a patch due out 1/10. Not sure how they helps now.

Almost a terrible day

Okay, so can I just smash the computer today. First I try to upload to Snap Fish...nada...won't work, go to help, it doesn't even have the options that help tell me to click on. Okay, forget it. Next off to blog...got some cute new pics of the puppies...page not available 4 times...finally get to browse and then after picking 5 photos..slam..not available. Okay, can I just say forget it tonight.

Worst part of day today..I call my friend to ask how puppies are doing...she is mildy hysterical and telling me "something wrong with Isabella, taking her to vet, I'll call you later".....okay, so I am thinking what is wrong. Worst case will she die. Our Pug Zoey lost her mom at 2 weeks old to a head injury. These puppies are only 3 days old, how will they survive. I fretted and fretted and then got the call...she's okay. Apparently she got bit by a spider or something. Her eye swelled up, tongue turned purple and she was in a bad way. 2 of our other friends were there, one went on the vet run..holding the lethargic mama. Forgot to mention that my friend gave her Benedryl, which saved her life! She is doing fine tonight. Thank goodness. Has anyone else out there had bad reaction to bugs with their Pug? I am going out to buy Benedryl tomarrow for sure.

Happy note...I agree with All up in the Koolaide....one of us should def. win the HGTV dream home! We could have a Pug Blog reunion. There is that bunk room. Or perhaps make it into a Bed and Breakfast for Pug Lovers...you know how hard it is to find a place that takes pets...even when you tell them that they are your children!

Good night.

Another day off

It was nice to have that extra day off work after the holiday. I managed to take the Christmas Tree in the dining room down and pack away it all away. I also took down all the small trees, kitchen decorations, and stuff in the main bathroom. I have left the tree in the living room. It looks so nice and no one goes in there, I just hate to take it down. I think I'll give that one another week (good thing it's fake!). I had aspirations to get to Joann Fabrics today to spend my gift certificate, but never got there. I did give both the girls baths in their new tea tree soap. When they got out they started fighting. I guess maybe they don't recognize each other when their clean! My sister gave us new flannel sheets for our bed, so I put those on and they both picked a warm spot to nestle in. The hubby is working the midnight shift, so we will have the bed to ourselves. Plenty of room for another little Puggy. We will be going to visit the babies this Saturday, then picking up the motorcycle the hubby found to buy. He parts them out and sell the parts on ebay. He enjoys it and it keeps him busy for hours and hours.

Happy New Year - Welcome babies!

Here are photos of our new baby and her family!

Here our human sister holds her favorite puppy!

Our family took a trip to visit the new puppies. They are so, so, tiny! The new mama is doing a great job. It is all about the puppies are our friends house! We love them all. We will pick our baby out in a week or so. Our human sister has her favorite. Mom really wants to see them with their eyes open. We will love whoever they pick.
