Another Happy Birthday!

I've pretty much been celebrating my birthday for almost a week now! More cakes than any one person should be allowed to admire, yet eat too!!!!

and don't judge the birthday night outfit!!! We're still recovering from Milwaukee Pugfest and will share all the great stories and photos in the days to come! Thanks to all those shouting out to me on fb too!

Black on Tan - A lesson on getting old.

Marty sure is looking grey (or should I say white?) these days.  He is now completely blind in one eye now and we don't know how much he sees out of the other one.  Sometimes when you call him, he looks around sort of desperately like "where is she".  His hearing is as keen as ever.  Crackle the treat bag, open a door, whisper his name...he is right there.  We adopted him and 7 and have had 6 year with him.  He has been with us nearly as long as he wasn't.  He reminds me how one can gracefully get old.  How kind words, enough food to eat and plenty of love can keep an old guy going. 

Don't be afraid to adopt a Senior!!!  They have plenty of love to give!

Trying to settle in....

The first hour or so in the new camper was pretty crazy. The Pugs aren't used to quite to much floor space and of course NOTHING smelled like us. We hadn't unpacked anything and it was WILD. They ran back and forth and back and forth. One would settle in and then it would all start again. THEN they noticed their view from the sliding glass door. Wow. Nuts. But then after a few hours it was life as usual for everyone.....

There she goes.....

We had a fairly adventurous day. We were hauling our trailer full of cement block up for leveling the new unit and a leaf spring broke. Yes, VERY interesting. Thankfully a very nice woman told us to back it into her driveway. Trouble was, we needed these blocks. We took off to meet our friends who were pulling off the new unit. We were still half hour away. Got last things cleaned out, water out, electric disconnected, and slide rooms in and off she went. Our campground owner has a large trailer, so he let P take his trailer to pick up our trailer! The new unit was due to arrive and P told me I could handle it! Of course I could!!! They got back when it was just about in place, so no photos as I was too busy directing and helping move it down our hilly road in. NERVEWRACKING. WE LOVE IT!!! Stay tuned for the Pugs new adventures in "camping" Punchy style!

Well, time to say goodbye to the old camper.  We've had it for nearly 15 Summers and Chloe was our first baby to be here way back in 2002.  We took a parting shot of all of them on their favorite space on the sofa!

We are in the midst of taking our camp apart to bring in our new place.  We have had our current place for 14 years and frankly it worked well for 2 human children, but not 6 furry ones!!!!  I'm not sure the Pugs know what to make of all the boxes, packing and dismantling.  They will not be going this week for the delivery - I wonder what thoughts will be going through their little minds when we drive up and it's all different????  I am VERY much looking forward to the king sized bed!!!

Happy 13th Birthday Marty!

Today our boy turns 13. 13, I just can't believe it! In human years he is 79, but you'd never know it by how he acts. He may be a half-blind and licks until I want to run from the room screaming, but he's our old man. He has been with us since he was 7. I often wonder about his first human family, the family who had someone take care of him for awhile and then never came to get him. We are technically his 4th family. 4 families in 7 years...but only one for ever more! Happy Birthday Marty!

Goodbye to April...

April has been a strange weather month. We've had warmth, rain, snow, high winds, more rain, more snow, and now raining again. We're looking forward to some sunshine in May, a little warmth would be nice too!

My mom was always designing her next craft project, finding a new recipe, decorating idea, or gift idea. A few weeks ago I was going through some things and came across a pad of paper with a "mom" sketch....

Camping Family Portrait

We have purchased a new Destination Trailer and that means packing up the last 14 years of "stuff" from inside our current one!  The Pugs went with us this weekend and I can't say they were much help with the packing, but the minute I sat down to take a break you can see where they all ended up!  The new place is MUCH bigger, so we can't wait....but I imagine sofa time will still find me covered by Pugs!
