Week away

Last week Pug daddy P and I headed to Williamsburg for some recharging.  P's sister gave us a free condo for the week and who can say no to free?  I have to say it was a difficult week to be away from the fur babies.  We left on Saturday knowing the pathology report for Chloe would be coming in and worrying about the growths that had recently appeared on Zoey.  Monday night the vet called with the bad news and after 2 days of crying my heart out, I pulled myself together and put a smile on my face to get thru.  The weather was BEAUTIFUL, the condo and resort BEAUTIFUL.  We ate WAY too much!  I read 4 books, worked on Sock Monkey Hats and Minion Hats for the shop and walked and swam and relaxed.

Over the years we have visited this same resort 5 times.  We had never visited Yorktown and this year decided to visit.  What a beautiful treat!  Like a mini Colonial Williamsburg without an entry ticket or the crowds!  First stop Nelson's house.  If you know your history you know Nelson, if not....a cool huge house!

Thursday evening after a day at the beach we headed to Norfolk to meet a special blog friend!  Southern Fried Pugs for dinner!  What a nice visit we had!

Keeping each other company

This morning when I got ready to leave for work Chloe went into the "recovery" area to join Zoey. At lunchtime when our son stopped to check on everyone and let them out, she went right back in and claimed the same spot.  Sisters forever!

Zoey came thru her surgery well. 6 incisions to heal. She was unhappy being away from the grumble last night and will be doubly unhappy to be penned when I leave for work. Oh these little furballs!

While we still come to grips with Chloe's sad news, Zoey had her dental and mass removal today. They found other growths while they were prepping her, so she now has 6 incisions and clean teeth. Now the wait for pathology results.

Sadly Chloe's tumor has been diagnosed as malignant melanoma.  We are going to surround our girl with love and embrace the time we have left. Thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts. We feel honored and blessed to be cared about by so many. 

Our old man turns 15

Today our Marty turns 15. Can't believe we got him at 7 and have had the honor of all these great senior years!

Chloe update

Chloe made it thru surgery and is waiting for me to pick her up. When the vet got her in he saw that the growth had ulcerated, do he skipped x-rays and went  straight to removal.  He found out that it was actually growing from a space in the top of her mouth where she had teeth removed last year.  He was unable to remove it all because some had already attached to her palette.  The growth and a sample from one if her lymph nodes have been sent out for determination of what it is, and if Cancer grading.  Thank you all for your continued prayers, thoughts, juju, and kind words.  I can not tell you how loved we have felt both here and on Facebook.  Please continue to keep us close as we see what happens next. xoxo Punchy

So anxious

First I would like to thank everyone for all their good thoughts and prayers for our girl.  Tomorrow morning she goes in for the chest X-rays and surgery to remove the tumor. Please continue good thoughts that the lungs will be clear and the tumor removed as best it can be. My anxiety level is thru the roof. 

Another whack upside our heads....

Discovered last night that our sweet Chloe has oral Cancer. We are trying to sort thru it all with first step being her bloodwork results.  Surgery is tentatively scheduled for next Wednesday.  Trying to do what is best for our baby.

Happy 10th Birthday Zoey!

Our little peanut turns 10 years old today!!! Hard to believe a decade has passed. She is still the smallest of the bunch and a spitfire for sure. She has survived 2 rounds of mast cell surgeries, still the best of the models for my shop and still holds a special place in my heart.

Dental Day

Our boy this morning on the way to his dental work. So relieved to get the call he did well!!!  List a bunch of teeth and a bad infection, but alive!!!!

The vet says the tooth must come out. The extraction had been scheduled for this coming Tuesday.  I'm working onto last nerves for worry, but know this is being done in his best interests. 

Getting old

Marty is starting to show his age these days. Now that his eyesight and hearing are very bad, sometimes when he "knows" I am not in the room is sits and cries and cries. The last two nights I set him up in the porta crib. He seems to feel safe in there.
