RIP Baby Kitty
Sadly today I had to take our "Baby Kitty" to be euthanized. A hard decision to make, but needed to be made nonetheless. We got her as a 5 week old kitten from the hockey rink my son skated at. The resident cat had kittens and they made an announcement over the loudspeaker and the rest was history. She was over 15 years old and it's hard to remember a time when she wasn't "parked" on the bench in the kitchen. She had surgery for tumors several years ago and after that surgery I told her she would never had surgery like that again...a promise is a promise. Unfortunately the tumors reappeared and sometime in the last couple of days 1 actually burst and broke through her abdomen. Certainly not a pretty site. She leaves one brother cat...Buster and the girls..whom she never quite developed a liking for!

oh i'm so sorry to hear of your loss. the decision to let them go is never, ever an easy one, but sometimes a necessary one. i'm sure her life was very happy and one filled with love (even if she disliked some of her siblings) they don't hold it against her. over 15 years is a good age for a kitty, especially one who went through toumurs and surgeries. just remember the happy times, she was loved and she knew it, she's in a good, safe, painless place now :) ~hugs~
I'm so sorry to hear about your sweet kitty. I'm sure you did the right thing for her by letting her go in peace and without pain. She's happy now, and grateful to have had such a wonderful friend in you.
Punchy, I'm so sorry about kitty. I know she had a most wonderful home for 15 years with you all. I'm sure that bench in the kitchen will be so empty without her sitting there watching the action.
Gosh punchy, Im so sorry. I cant imagine how tough it is to make that decision but it sound like you really did the right thing for Kitty. And now I am SURE kitty is enjoying all the catnip and mice she can handle over the Rainbow Bridge.
I'm so sorry to hear about your baby kitty. I know that she is able to run and stretch out in the sun - without any worries.
Aww...so sorry...I can't even begin to imagine how hard this decision was for you to make and do....she lived a LONG fun filled live..wow 15 years! thats a long time. you did the right thing its not what is best for you it is what was best for her..... chin up!
Thanks for all your kind words. I know I did right by her and imagine her sitting on my mom's lap up there!
I am so sorry to hear of Kitty's passing. What a hard but kind decision to have to make.
