longggg windy weekend

This was probably our last long weekend at camp for the season. Saturday morning P went out fishing VERY early. He was VERY happy to have caught his biggest Salmon of the season. 30 pounds...wow. Too bad I refuse to eat it. Refuse. The end.Around noon P's little sister and her husband arrived with their dog, Flash. Flash is around 12 years old and a rescue. They got her when she was around a year old. She was attacked when she was young, so she is NOT thrilled about other dogs approaching. She did okay with our group for the most part, but we made sure to be very careful. After dinner we took a walk to the water with Flash, Rosie and Kiki....Rosie looking worried...as always. Around dusk they left and we had a campfire with camp friends. We went inside around 10pm. A bit later our phone rang telling us that everyone with boats were removing them from the docks due to the bad weather expected Sunday. We didn't have our truck, but everyone was helpful and some young men and the owner took out most of the boats with the campground equipment. When we got up Sunday morning the wind was pretty brisk. Although they told us to expect 25 mph winds we had wind gusts of 50 mph. Nowhere near what others were getting, but bad enough for us.Our little bay's entrance got filled in and will most likely remained closed off from Lake Ontario for the rest of the season. The dock usually goes straight out.....not so straight anymore. The lake side was pretty rough.....

Amazing how far we were from the hurricane itself......

It was a good day to stay inside and sew! Today the lake and bay were both calm as could be. P put our boat back into the water and spent some time bay fishing. Afterwards we cleaned and packed up for home. The Pugs....the Pugs did what they do best....relax......

Oh that rainbow bridge......

Many moons ago I was surfing the internet looking for all things Pug. I came across a blog...All Up in the Koolaide aka Alfreds' Mom, a blog. This blog lead me to Ragus Pugs. We followed each others blogs and emailed. Finally we and a bunch of other bloggers met. I survived a 14 hours drive, met some bloggers and lived! Time passed, more blogged, some stopped, babies were born, sweet Pugs passed and Alfred's mom followed her husband to Korea for the Army. Sadly her Pugs Alfred and Holly could not go due to health and age, but Sandy stepped up and they moved in with her. Anyone who knows Sandy knows she has a BIG BIG heart and a real love for the Seniors.

Today Alfred passed. Alfred the first little Pug blog I ever read. God Bless Sandy and her hubby and Chalica who is now mourning Alfred for a second time. Hug your Pugs and each other and remember what a wonderful world we live in and how even with the bad we see and hear about, there are good and wonderful people out there. I consider myself blessed to have had the opportunity to meet many of you and hope to meet many more....

Love to all,
Punchy

a long time ago, before marriage, children, and Pugs....

there was college and friends and me..... where have the years gone?

I have been thinking about old friends lately and my friend L (flowered shirt). We went to college together and were great friends. She lived outside Syracuse NY and I lived outside Rochester NY. We visited during vacations and were in each other's weddings. We wrote (anyone remember letters?) and exchanged Christmas cards. Then silence. So today on *facebk* I get a friend request...from her. Strange how life works. It seems my friend has battled Cancer (06) and Leukemia (08).

That sure explains the silence.....

Summer Meetup....

Saturday was Pug Meetup. We loaded up into the car and drove from camp. When we arrived Miss Dixie was showing off the tutu I made her. Here everyone was greeting a little girl who was attending. Kiki REALLY liked her.

Of course they all come running for the "treat" handout.

Miss Rosie is always at my feet. Worrying she's going to be left behind. Get out there and play Rosie!!! Miss Kiki was the absolute hit of the meetup. She ran and played from our arrival at 9:45 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. when we headed back to camp.

Pugboat - keepin' it real party on!

On Sunday, our buddies came to camp for the day and we all headed out for the beach. Boy, Aunt L looks a little worried.P decided to give Vinny a turn at the wheel. He did pretty good. He must have been using the GPS, cuz ya' know, he's blind, right?

He took his job very serious! Heh, how's everybody doing back there?

Hmmm, Rosie seems a tad worried, but then again Rosie is always worried. We got to the beach and P jumped in with Chloe. She is the original Pugboat Mama! She's been sailing the blue waters for 9 Summers now!

Kiki wanted to be close to the fish finder, snack bag and the "drinks". FYI, that drink was HORRIBLE.

Some of us relaxed on the back of the boat....and after all that hard work driving Vinny took a nap.....and P took to the front and got some sun with Dixie.....

Zoey decided to put a call out to other boaters...."heh, this here is the Pugboat, what's yer 10-4 good buddy?", "what dad? that's trucker talk and I'm on a boat?".....After everyone took a dip they did some sunbathing.....and then took to chillaxin, Pug style!

Everyone had a great day and can't wait to have more Pugboat days this Summer!

and then there were 10

L visited with her crew and our camp population (or should I saw Pugulation?) doubled. P had not met Vinnie yet.....

Ha, neither had anyone else in our crew, but Kiki. Zoey is giving him the "look" here! Kiki and Vinny set right back into their wrestling.

and wore themselves out.... Stay tuned for tomarrow for our adventures on the Pugboat! (we let Vinnie drive!)
