A gift...

Still here and still dizzy....go ahead I know you all want to laugh!!!

Got home from work today and a package was waiting for me. Inside a note from Lisa of Pug Posse. She and her family gave up their camp and she sent me these two signs to hang at our camp! How sweet!!! I know just where I'm going to hang them and will always think of Pug Posse when I look at them!

Thanks Lisa and Pug Posse

Guest Post from Clover!!!!

Since I'm feeling "off" this week, Clover graciously offered to do my first guest post! Thanks Clover!

Hi everyone! Clover here, all set to do my first ever guest post! I thought a lot about what to write, because I want to do a good job for Punchy. I did some research and found that most guest blog posts are "how-to" type posts. So I tried to think of something that I am good at doing that I can teach to others. So here is "Clover's Illustrated Guide to Getting the Toy You Want." I will be using myself and Chewy to demonstrate.

Step One: Approach the target, trying to be inconspicuous. In this example, I am casually making my way over to where Mr. Bear rests by the paws of one Chewy Blue Stewie.

Step Two: Nonchalantly sniff around the target, feigning mild interest in the material or design of said target. Here you see me asking Chewy "interesting fuzzy material isn't it? I wonder how they got the squeaker in there?"

Step Three: Claim target as your own! Try to take over as much of the room as you can in the process, and order any siblings or friends to go find their own toys. This image depicts my victory in procuring Mr. Bear AND the bed for myself. I also told Chewy to take a hike.

And there you have it; you now have all the tools you need to get the toy you want. Please try to practice this on your own and let me know how it goes!

Take care everyone. Thanks Punchy, for letting do a guest post. Bye

I appear to be suffering from a form of vertigo.
While many normally believe I am a tad "dizzy"....I really am right now. Please send head straightening thoughts.

Back at camp....

We just got home from camp just a bit ago and I realized two things...first I left my camera cord there (thank goodness for a laptop that transfers SD cards, and second, I forgot to take photos!!!!

The Pugs settled right back in there like they'd never been gone! Friday night we went to neighbors for a campfire. It started raining, then lightening, then we ran for our place. Marty has decided that he does NOT like thunder. The storm was "stuck" out over the lake and lasted over 2 hours! Every time it thundered, he barked. I finally went in back bedroom, made up the bed turned on the fan and got him quieted down....short night!

Saturday P hung the porch blinds and then went golfing. I got all my porch stuff in place and relaxed. In the afternoon there was a party at one of our friends. There were quite a few of us there. I did take a few photos at the party, but promised I would NOT post! HAHA Here is the view from this hill in the camp. You can not see our place from here.

After the party broke up (wow, did it get cold!) we went back to our place and P started a campfire. Our friends from downstate had arrived that day and they came over for chili and the campfire. It ended up raining, so we went inside and had coffee and chatted a while.

Sunday morning P went to help T put his boat in and I painted, read, napped, and took a walk. We were going to leave early but got invited to T's for his cooking. YUM! We never left until almost dark. The Pugs are exhausted and frankly...I am too!

Hope everyone else had a great weekend!

Heckle & Jeckle

These two are quite a pair. While all four will play occasionally, these two play a lot! It's great to see since some of you will recall that Zoey's flat little nose was "out of joint" when Rosie came along!

Yesterday....

We turned this....

into this.....

The trees are still bare.

It was pretty cold. We were happy to have no MICE when we got inside. Thankfully our friends S & G stopped up and helped with the screen room. P would have been getting annoyed with just my help! She had made Yankee Bean Soup, so we all enjoyed a bowl of that. We got home around 9:15pm. I was so tired and cold I took a hot bath and went straight to bed!

Doing some custom tie collars for an upcoming wedding in September...no, not my son's, NO PUGS in that wedding! No fair!

Rosie took over with the most recent modeling assignments. Good thing about her, she stands VERY STILL.....bad thing....that sad face!

Easter Weekend

Having an extra day off on the weekend is always great! I'd LOVE to have a 4 day work week - every week!!

During the Winter I found a set of four of these along the roadside. I actually saw them on the way to drop something off to a friend. I said to myself, "I should get those", but it was raining and I thought, I'll stop and get them if they're still there on my way home. They were, but I thought, if I bring one more thing home P will shoot me! So I started I passed them up and made my way home...thinking...those would be perfect for camp...I could paint...new seats. So, half way home I turned around, drove back and they were still there! I loaded them into the back of my vw and headed home. I happily showed P and he said...okay, right.

First, I was sent to the netherlands of our yard. I am NOT a neat painter, especially with spray paint!

After painting them all up I put them inside the porch to dry. Meantime we took the seats off the bases and P removed the staples and the ugly vinyl fabric. The foam was still in great shape and since they are going to be used on porch at camp, I thought it would do just fine.

The process.

I think the end result looks great!

I also got an order done for matching Spring dresses.
On Easter we were going to go to dinner at Asian Buffet with my dad and A. She asked us to get to her house by 1 to drive together. When we got there we were surprised to see she had made us an Easter dinner! We had a great dinner and watched the Masters on tv. We got home at 7:30pm and I had a nice bath and read, then off to bed.
A pretty full weekend!

Buster

Buster's clock seems to be winding down. He is nearing 18 and not in great health. He used to weigh 20 pounds, now more like 10. We have never let our cats outside, but Buster now refuses to use the litterbox, and like the Pugs will wait at the door to go outside. He doesn't stay out there long and many times I'll see him sunning himself, perhaps dreaming of days when he would have been able to climb a tree or chase a squirrel....

Now he's just a skinny old man, whose clock is winding down......

Rosie's Vet Visit

Rosie is the last of the group to go in for her yearly well check. Thankfully she is actually good at the vet! I mean she is terrified, but good! She shakes like crazy during the exam. Since she is the most lively AND loud of the group, it is funny to see her act....scared!
The tech took this photo as we were checking out. I had been bragging about my camera win, and of course they had to try it out.
The ladies there think I should work there. Not sure where I'd fit that in my day!

Pugs in Pugs out

Friday afternoon I got a telephone call from a friend whose son got a Pug last Fall and could no longer keep him. They asked if I knew anyone wanting a Pug. I quickly called my BFL (Pug Buddy) and someone she works with did still want a Pug and was willing to take a 5 year old, unaltered, hyper, marking, Male Pug.

Now sometimes the stars align. Saturday happened to be meetup. Since I had a wedding shower at 1pm, I was going to make the one hour trip to meetup without my own Pugs and then travel on to the shower. A couple of text messages and phone calls later and everything was set.

So Saturday morning I left my house, and FOUR VERY SAD FACES, at 8:25am. Went and got "Buster", and we headed out to meetup. I have to say it was the quietest ride to meetup I've ever had! Buster was in his crate and just stared at me. We got there early to help with setup and Buster was set loose! What a great little guy! He did not fit his description of "single, fawn male, hyper, marks". As the other meetup people arrived he just hung out and had a good time.

I think there were several families there that would have loved to take him home.

Isn't he handsome?

His new owners came and met him and LOVED him. How could they not? They were very excited and since she works with BFL we can keep track of him. Although we are not a rescue organization, we made her sign paperwork with us. If things don't work out, we will take him in and find him his perfect home.

Meantime also at meetup Miss Puggy was going to her new forever home.

Some of you may have seen or heard of Miss Puggy on the Green Mtn. website. She has liver shunt and came downstate to be fostered by my BFL while having her visits to Cornell. It has been decided that since she has been responded to L's terrific care and her new routine, that the surgery would not be done. Meantime thoughts went to her staying more locally. Now BFL really wanted to keep her, but with 4 Pugs of her own, and how busy she is, it would be too hard. At a meeting for our events M met Miss Puggy and fell in love and decided to put in application to adopt her. All went well and they came to meetup to have fun and take Miss Puggy home with them.

It's always great to see those "less than physically" perfect Pugs find "perfect" homes.

Recently someone had the message board called rescue Pugs..."damaged goods"....
this is how Miss Puggy and I feel about that!

Rosie and lots of germs

Gertie the Germ, that is! Rosie's first Gertie came home with her when we got her. Gertie is her favorite. In fact, everyone in the house loves a Gertie. Best thing is, Gerties may loose her eyes, but Gertie never gets unstuffed. She gets dragged and chewed and fought over, but never unstuffed. So we've discovered that we had several Gerties around the house....

Only problem...manufacturer stopped making Gertie....sigh....this is one germ that this family will miss!
