First January Saturday aka Clean Sweep

P worked last night until 9:30 pm and was gone this am when I got up at 7. I jumped back into taking down Christmas 2007. He called around 9:30 am to say he doubted he would make it home in time for the drive to meetup. Since I was a mess, the house was a mess, and I didn't want to drive an hour alone , I know those that know I drove 14 hours alone to bloggy meetup, but heh, that was different! Anyhow, then the phone rang with a call from my BF with family troubles. After an hour on the phone, meetup was out of the question. Don't tell the Pugs!!!!

So 95% of Christmas is packed neatly away in the new red/green containers I purchased early on in the season. Some items are set aside for donating, broken things tossed, you get the picture. Now all the containers are in the upstairs front landing, waiting for P to carry them to the attic.

I also got the front tree decorated for Valentine's...oh, so darn cute!!!! I WILL post a picture of it real soon...soon as you know the computer is back from repair..which is tomarrow at 1pm.

I am deeming January Clean Sweep month. If it's broke and can't be fixed - out it goes; If I haven't used it or won't - give it away. I need to de-clutter and de-junk my life and my house!!! I REALLY want to find something WHEN I am looking for it.

Do you guys save everything? Have a junk drawer? or two? or three?

Oh I can't wait to see that Val tree!

I was just thinking of keeping my little trees up in the entry way and decorating for other holidays.

Awesome minds think alike!

Dad has what is called the "Drawer of Doom". It used to be worse, but it is still pretty bad. Mom knows what you mean about de-clutering. She is trying. She really is, but it is hard sometime, especially when a small boy leaves his toys all over.

I'm a throwing out, giving away, delete kind of a person. You will feel so much better without clutter. Good luck!

It is a problem. I tend to throw out but the husband does not. But I do accumulate things over time. Sounds like a good plan you have now for cleaning out!

Hmmmm, Clean Sweep Month, sounds like a great idea! My parents have a whole room dedicated to stuff that they "might use" in the future, although quite a few items in there have been waiting to be used for several years. . .

We hope we can see your pics real soon!

We dont have room to save anything! I am constantly going thru our clothes, books, kitchen stuff etc trying to weed out even more. I get a good satisfaction from it now.

If your husband is anything like mine (I say this with love!) I hope those christmas containers dont stay stacked in the hallway for weeks!

I need a clean sweep as well. We got rid of a lot of stuff last year but I've been sticking off stuff in drawers for several months now that need a good cleaning and organizing. Sounds like a good challenge! ;)
