I save stuff. If something has sentiment attached to it, I save it. I am sentimental about stuff. I have tried to not have my love of "stuff" take over my life, but most of my stuff has a story. It may not be a best selling novel kind of story, but nonetheless....a story. I think it is very important to know where we have come from. The little stuff that makes it our story. The one we pass on, the ones our kids or niece and nephews, or friends remember us by. It's how our spirit stays alive, it's the fabric of our life.
Little Stuff.....these are my baby beads. Yes, when I was born you got REAL beads with your name spelled out! Along with these beads is the rosary my grandmother gave to me when I was born. My mom had saved them both and before she died gave them to me...
Now remember "saving stuff" is not the same as saving "junk", although saving stuff can be known also as "collecting". "Collecting" has a theme... like collecting baseball cards, tea cups, furniture, cars, Pugs, whatever. Wow, did I say Pugs????
So, where was I going with this post? Oh yeah, "stuff".....got any?????

yes, i save both 'stuff' and 'junk'. i think the reason i save so much 'stuff' is that my mom didn't save my stuff when i was very young and hence i feel like i was cheated on that (for instance if i had a baby bracelet - it's LONG gone). now the reason i save 'junk' is because my grandmother was a child of the depression and she won't even throw away a piece of used tin foil! so i take after her - i'll save a 12" piece of yarn ;-)
We have an annual purging of stuff where we get rid of a little bit more than we were willing to part with last year. If you do it slowly, it doesn't hurt as badly.
Oh I am liken these 'stuff' posts. Yeah. I have a lot of meaningful stuff. A lot of junk too.
I pray for wisdom to tell the difference.
And pitch the junk, once and for all!
I think my baby bracelet looks a lot like that...it is over at my mama's with all the "stuff" she has. goodness it's a lot of stuff at my mama's. I try not to be emotionally attached to stuff. But there area few pieces that belong to grandparents that I can't part with.
I have both stuff and junk but I think my stuff is mixed up with my junk! haha. I really need to declutter deperately.
I'm not a collector - I tend to throw out "junk" alot - but stuff that I have kept is a "hanky" that my grandmother gave me when I got married for my "something old" it's an embroidered piece that was her mothers - I love having it.
ugh my comments never come through on here. I have some some bracelets with bells on them that I had when I was born babies got those in the hospital they are silver..
Mom is trying to get rid of stuff (junk). She is doing it slowly. Over a couple decades.

I used to save stuff, until I moved for the first time and realized how much "stuff" I had and was completely annoyed with having to pack it all. Now I've streamlined my life and learned to scrapbook pictures of the "stuff" i used to own, places I've been and things I've done. So I still have the memories but now it all fits inside ONE box. :)
