Long Weekend Recap!

Saturday we ventured to the Boat Show. I was a frantic mess by the time we got there! The thruway was HORRIBLE. Cars off the road, white-outs, just a mess. But thankfully we arrived safely and spent the next several hours looking at all the boats and talking about Summer! Our friends met us there, so it was double fun!

Lately it seems people are getting more and more into "party boats". They had some VERY lavish ones...this one looked like a Cadillac! This wine area actually disappeared into the console with the touch of a button....P and our friend S we really enjoying this boat! The drive home was equally horrible and I was one VERY happy person to walk into our house!
On Saturday morning we jumped back in the car and headed back on the thruway for a Pug transport..... We got back home in time for P to enjoy the Daytona 500 and for me to go grocery shopping. I was SO tired the Pugs and I went to bed at 8:30!

Monday was a day off work, so after puttering around the house all morning I finally settled in and got to sewing. Some St. Patrick's items are now in my shop......

What did you guys do????

Transport 1-1-11 rockin' in the year Pug style....

P and I started out 2011 by doing a transport for GMPR. This trip was three little Pugs. A bonded pair and an owner surrender aka *craigslist*. Little Sissy looked so forlorn I had her as my traveling companion. She so enjoyed the attention and belly rubs. You just can't help but fall in love with these little ones! A big thanks out to all the rescue groups, run coordinators, drivers and fosters!!!! Every person plays a part in saving these little ones. May each of you make this the year you find something to be passionate about and volunteer. Whether a car ride, a place to sleep, food, money, whatever...play a part....you will be paid back 10 fold. Rock on Puglovers.....hugs, Punchy

The next adventure begins....

Everyone remember this scene? Miss Sassy and her "little brood of 7"! Well, by the time many of you read this I will be away from my home base, traveling to greet this face....meet KiKi
If you didn't join in and watch the Kentuckiana Puppy Cam, you missed out on a lot! Many hugs to Annie who has safely taken care of this sweet little girl and will put her in my arms. I know she has taken in many fosters and seen many sweet young and old travel through her house, but honestly I can't imagine it all. It takes VERY special people to foster. Foster some that go and some that never go. Foster some that break your heart and others that break the bank. All you foster parents out there I love you all for what you do! Please visit KENTUCKIANA PUG RESCUE and donate! Tell 'em you love Pugs! Do it for me, do it for my new baby KiKi, do it until they all have a home!
Hugs,
Punchy

When people do the right thing....

Sometimes a pet owner has to make a sad decision regarding their pet. This little guy's owner was NEVER home. Going to college, working two jobs....but LOVING him! She overlooked her own feelings and asked for help in finding him a perfect home......just so happened I knew of one!
My heart broke for the young lady that went home to a pugless house. She told me although her heart was empty and broken, she knew she had done the right thing for him. Unfortunately not everyone who takes in a pet does this. Some get relinquished to outside or crated or worse. This was a happy ending....I mean beginning!
PS - P was SO thankful this all worked out........y'all know what would have happened right?

Rescue Pics - Annabella & Madison

Here are some pics of the "rescues" I did this week. These are taken in my car. The trucks passing us on the thruway probably wondered what all that flashing was going on in that vw beetle!
