Poor Zoey

I had thought that Zoey was not acting like she felt well. When we went out Monday morning...her pee was bloody. I, of course, freaked out. As soon as I got to work I called the vet to get appt. for her and they suggested getting a sample to be brought in to check for infection. So I called my hubby and told him to get a sample....like how? They suggested an old plastic bowl or something. I told him to try to do it before he went to bed for the day, not wanting to let it go on any longer. He called me 1/2 hour later, from the vet. What a guy! Turns out yes, she has infection and is now on meds...okay, let's add $48 to that amount from last week for checkups! The pills are huge, but she is a good girl and takes them with no trouble...except, they make her sick. I think part of it was not eatting due to not feeling well and then taking the meds. She got sick in my office and was just not herself. So daddy babied her and when I got home from work she was her crazy self. The three crazy girls played like nuts for almost 2 hours. They ran around and around and around..all three of them. They were all so tired it was hysterical. So we gave Zoey her second pill and then mama got to take her bath and read...now we need to make coffee and daddy's lunch.

Saturday - cold, then snow, then more snow, then ice - blah

A not doing too much day. This is not the type of weather that makes for a nice weekend, but the kind of weather that makes for a lazy one. Started out the morning taking a walk with my friend. We took our usual 4 mile walk, which we haven't been doing due to weather and cold...oh, and my bad knee. Today I said what's the difference and off we went. On the way home the wind was blowing so bad in our faces it took your breath away. We got home to my driveway and it started snowing like mad. Weird. So after that great walk, a great nap was in order...so Chloe and Zoey and I went off to nap, then made dinner, then scrapbooked, then bed.

A weekend with NO planned activities!

Phew, Friday night!!!! The hubby just left to work some OT and everyone is out! The Pugs just played their pug butts off and are all settled in. I checked Rosie's crate tonight and found that she has put ALL the toys in there. I can't figure out where the heck she has been sleeping! She must have 20 toys in there! How funny she is. She is a monster and chases the big girls and then when they come after her, she hides between my feet or under the table...little smarty.

So, hopefully this weekend I'll get a couple of good walks in, do some scrapbooking, and some sewing...a perfect weekend! HAHA

My son is 23!!!!

Wow, or should I say phew! Got through that birthday dinner for my son. Ended up having 13 for dinner, not too bad. Time sure has gone by very fast...somehow, as those years were going by, they didn't seem that fast! I still remember the day my son was born vividly!!!! I was 26 when he was born and so, so excited. We had been married for 3 years, had our first house, 2 cats, and were ready to start that family! My sweet baby daughter was added 3 years later, and to quote my dad "you've got one of each now, you can stop".... Heck, I really wanted a third, it just never happened...maybe that's why I have three Pugs! Anyhow, we put all 23 candles on the cake and we agreed that the light hurt our eyes!

Rosie's first vet appt.

Tonight was Rosie's first vet appt. Luckily, Chloe was due for her 3 yr. exam, so I scheduled Rosie at same time. Wow, that was interesting. Good thing I didn't have to take all three of them! Zoey was very upset she was not leaving. Anyhow, Rosie is doing great. She weighs a whopping 4 pounds 6 ounces....Chloe on the other hand weighs 22 pounds. I asked the assistant to deduct for her harness, but she said it didn't make much of a difference, heck you know how you take your shoes off before you step on the scale????? Oh well, the vet did not yell that she gained 4 ounces since last year. I guess that's pretty good considering all the successful begging she does. Rosie got her first shot, Chloe got her booster and heart worm blood work. All in all, not too bad other than the $135 for the visit. Ouch.

After the vet, my son and I went shopping for his stuff for his birthday dinner. It is tomarrow, he is turning 23 on the 23rd. Cool. Seems like yesterday. I can not possibly have a son turning 23 years old! My son has a case of the "sads". Lots of death and family breakdown in both my hubby and my family...those crazy big parties are now small, and I might add manageable. I know he misses all his grandparents alot. So, we'll make the best of it! He picked pasta for dinner and Carvel Ice Cream Cake. Weird, my mom always made pasta for my birthday and that was one of the hardest things after she died....having a birthday without her.

Worst part of tomarrow - I have dentist appt. at 7:45 am! Stupid me ripped a plastic bag open with my teeth..and broke off 2 of them! dumb!

Paranoia

Okay, I may have become a tad paranoid lately. Yesterday my left hand felt numb...now I have been keyboarding, scrapbooking, sewing, etc. and I do have a problem with carpel tunnel...but in my mind, I'm thinking "heart attack"...so last night when I went to bed I set at 11pm, I set my alarm for 3am, to make sure I was still alive! Yep, alarm went off, still here! Thank you God!....back to sleep, alarm at 7 am and greet the day. I believe we all do take for granted waking up each morning....like my grandmother used to say when anyone complained about the weather being bad..."did you thank God for the sunshine yesterday?" How easy to not think about sun, when the sun is shining, about being healthy, when we are healthy, about waking up each morning and being ALIVE~

Winter Party

We have a group of pug crazy people that socialize and also do fundraising for rescue groups. We had our third annual Winter Party today. This was Rosie's first party and everyone loved holding her. Her mama was there and got to see her after her week away. One of her sister's hasn't been picked up by her new owner's so she was there too. Those two were NUTS together. Funny to see their different personalities. We thought Rosie was rough until we saw Daisy...wow! The funniest part was that I told you our Zoey was having trouble being the middle child...well, when Daisy picked on Rosie, Zoey stepped in to protect her baby sister. It was so cute.

Puppies and babies change everything!

It's crazy to think how one little puppy or one little baby can change (and rule) an entire household. When I had my son...many years ago I might add, I thought life was just about perfect. When I added my daughter 3 years later, the work did double, or did it triple??? I imagined having a third, but it was just not to be....now, I have Pugs...the first was just thrilling, the second made it better and the third...CRAZY!!!! haha. That little 4 pounder is the center of the house, meantime I make sure "everyone" gets lots of hugs and playtime....same as when that second baby came in the house, don't want the first to feel dejected. I recall, my mother-in-law (Rose) may she rest in peace...once said to me: the first two were easy, the third hard...four, five and six....well, it didn't seem any different. I do NOT believe I will be trying four, five, or six Pugs!!!! I just don't have enough room in my bed!

Getting used to Rosie

Well....I am exhausted! Rosie slept in until 5am today. We ALL got up, she ate, she pooped, she played...the big girls went outside. At 6:30 we thought we'd grab another hour of sleep....but Rosie didn't want to stay downstairs all alone. She howled and the girls ran around the bed barking. After about 35 seconds, I went down got her and the three of them all went back to sleep...unfortunately with one dog practically on my head, and 2 on my chest...sleep did not come easily...for me! I think Chloe and Zoey are getting more used to her. Chloe acts totally the same, but little miss Zoey's nose is a little out of joint...can a flat nose do that? I have been spending a lot of my time making her feel okay about the whole thing. Once Rosie is bigger and can really play it should be WILD around here. Sorry no pics tonight. We were working on our Valentines photo shoot...you'll have to wait until tomarrow for those! This Pug mama is off to bed!

Surprise - Rosie is home!

Rosie & Uncle Dakota

Rosie, Chip and Daisy taking a last nap together!

Rosie checks out her diaper bag

Chloe and Zoey - helping
Zoey really likes that duck!

Well, today took a turn of events. We heard that two of the puppies were going to their forever homes and talked to our friend and decided to pick Rosie up today. We were going on another excursion to pick up a motorcycle to "part out" and would be within 45 minutes, so went for it.

My poor friend, was feeling very poorly about those babies going! My heart broke for her. Wow, if everyone could have a puppy from a home like hers. These puppies were nurtured and loved to pieces...did I mention spoiled? My daughter and I rode home with all three girls in the back seat of our car. My poor hubby was the only male in the group. When we got home Rosie and the girls checked out her "diaper bag" that her gramma made her. In it was a sweater, fleece blanket, food, photos, toys, and wipes! As you can see from the photo the outside was decorated with her name and birthdate and weight! She did this for all five puppies.

After playing for a bit, Rosie put herself to bed in her crate...can you imagine, put herself to bed? The girls are doing pretty good. Their noses are only a tiny bit "out of joint", but I have been smoothering them with love (as usual) and I'm sure they will be just fine.

Tomarrow is our local Pug meetup, so my daughter is babysitting Rosie at home, so Chloe and Zoey can go to meetup!

High Fashion

Okay, so I really do need more to do, don't you think? Here is the latest coat for the girls. It is a fleece type fabric with leopard embossed on it. The collar and belt and black vinyl ( which sucks to sew on!). I only have Zoey's done and the model she is she couldn't wait to show off. I really need a closet for these girls!

Baby Rosie update...one more week until we pick her up!

Enough snow already

Today we got another fluffy "dusting" of snow. It was light and fluffy and because of that was around 8". Now I know it really wasn't 8 inches of true snow, but nonetheless, when trudging through it, it was still ankle soaking. The girls were running through it this morning so fast that their faces were covered....sorry no photos. Hubby took them out and camera was upstairs. Today I went to Target and saw these cute and what I thought were inexpensive "stairs". Our bed is really high and the girls can not jump on it. I bought the stairs, came home after work and put them together. The girls enjoyed taking turns climbing them. When I put them next to the bed - TOO SHORT! Seems I would actually need a double set for them to actually reach...so I put them up against the wooden chair already next to bed and works like a charm....hope I don't get out of bed tomarrow and fall down those stairs!

Blogging

Now the past few days I don't feel like I have anything to say that is interesting for anyone to read. Maybe I'm just too tired or lazy to snap those digital pics and get creative. Maybe nothing exciting is going on in my life, maybe that's good. Rosie comes to live here in 9 more days. I'm sure life will be very exciting after that! Crazy is probably a better word for it.

Super Pug Bowl Sunday

Well, got home late Saturday afternoon, unpacked all my supplies and then went grocery shopping with my daughter. I was exhausted. Went to bed before 11pm. This morning got up and got ready for the trip to visit Rosie. Here's Chloe anxiously waiting in my car to leave. The head next to her is really a window cling and not another Pug..Zoey is in the backseat too, but waiting more patiently! Chloe is a worrywart!

The puppies are 5 weeks old now. I'm not sure Zoey knew what to think about me holding Rosie! The owners of the daddy Pug stopped over too...we had 6 adults and 5 babies in the house, it was Pug crazy!

When we left to drive home, the hubby headed East on the thruway instead of West...the way home. Luckily we only ended up with an extra 20 miles. The weather forecast was for heavy snow and part way home, we hit some of that "dead in your face blowing snow". Also, the temperature dropped from 42 to 32 within a few minutes. Thankfully the snow squall only last about 20 minutes and then it was clear the rest of the way home. Hope everyone enjoys their Super Bowl Sunday.. I for one am hoping the game goes fast and Grey's Anatomy comes on right at 10pm!!!! Sorry Football fans!
