1000 Pugs Sadness

Edited 2016 - It seems that people sometimes come across my post done "years ago" when searching 1000 Pugs.  Understand please that when I wrote this post things were different.  To slam me in your comments now is ridiculous.  I do not defend what this person did with this project.  We all were upset with the outcome and disappointed.  I can't hold on to the loss of the money or time I gave.  That anger would serve no purpose.  I am disappointed.  VERY.  Many of my friends never caught a look of their photos.  Many of my friends Pugs passed after the photo shoot and we would love nothing more than to see the "promise" of those photos.  The book...oh that book would have sold, no doubt.  It is all sad and disappointing, but my original post here below was from when things started going bad, not now.  We all didn't have answers then and I was remaining open-minded.  Now not so much.  Your negative comments towards me in all this, will be deleted.  Thanks.....

There seems to be a lot of bad press and ill feelings going on right now over the project.  I feel I need to say this here "out loud", well sort of out loud anyhow!!!  It is time for all this nasty business to stop. He said, she said, stuff taken out of context. I feel like I am involved in my kids lives back when Instant Messenger was the rage and people said things they would NEVER say to a person's face.

I participated in the project and my header is wonderful proof of it!  I participated because of my LOVE for Pugs and their humans.  I thought ALL Pug people were awesome.  I am finding it just isn't so.  I also participated in the kickstarter program. I am very happy with my photos and look forward to the book when it is ever available.  I wish the kickstarter stuff had gone as promised,  but I have honestly sort of written that off. My money is as hard earned as the next person. I understand people have problems EVERYONE has problems. EVERYONE has bills. I think because of all the negativity going around that perhaps it would be good if Daily Puglet changed her blog settings to no comments or reviewing the comments before they are posted. Let's all respect each other and remember why we are in all these groups! Let's not get INTO battles over battles that aren't ours!! Please don't hate on me next!!!

I am sorry for those unknowing bloggers who have NO clue what I am talking about.  But for those that do know..let's all move on!

Good for you, I was reading all the supportive words for Puglet's mom and crying all morning. I don't understand how people can be so mean and hateful.
I am so glad that there are puglovers out there like you speaking out.

Hi Deb!
What an adorable picture of Stewie!
I feel sorry for both sides of the equation...because on-line discussions are no longer private...and I feel bad that she was "exposed" but at the same time I feel bad that Amanda is getting negative comments...but the pot keeps getting stirred by both sides...it is just a sad day for pug lovers. I'm not going to be hasty and delete favorite blogs for this one incident. I pray that all can be resolved and happy posts can come forth once again.
Much Love,
Mindy :)

Totally agree that it is getting out of hand. I've been trying to be a calming influence, but it doesn't seem to be working.
There have been mistakes made on both sides. And it can't be taken back. It's a hard lesson to learn that NOTHING on the internet is really private. I try to live by the mantra of not saying anything, if I can't say anything nice. And to not say it if I wouldn't want my mom to hear. And she's a pastor's wife so that really keeps me in line.
I said my piece on my blog and I think I'm done. I agree that Amanda should set her blog to no comments or moderating. That would solve a lot of this. Or at least force it back onto Facebook and off the blog.
Thanks for speaking out with compassion and kindness.
Stewie looks awesome!

No clue about what you're talking about but Max and I are sending you giant pug hugs from a chihuahua so there! Don't anyone be mean to Max's virtual buddies! "Can't we all just get along"? Seriously, life's too short to live in negativity :)

i'm glad you got your pictures! stewie looks so handsome! and i hate that the whole project has gotten so out of control. if i was amanda i probably wouldn't be able to even look at those comments.
I will admit that I am a little frustrated after waiting for 10 months and then getting a date (feb 22nd) and still not seeing anything. i would never even dream of saying something ugly to amanda(because i have definitely gotten in over my head on something and made unrealistic promises because i just want people to be happy!)
but it is disappointing to check every day and not see any photos added to the gallery for my city in over a week. I guess I just need to stop checking and wait until we get emailed again. i hope she can get all this wrapped up soon, and i hope the book comes out and it is a success for her! because i think it will be!

Oh, I just read on 1000 pugs the recap of the project, and I am in tears at my desk reading about "the ugly." I hope the people who are being hateful, rude and terrible are ashamed of themselves.

Life is too short- moments are being wasted- people cannot get back time.
We agree with you.

That is so great that you got your photos! So many of us have not. According to her website, we were to get our proofs in 15 days after our photo shoots. Well, we are coming up on one year with nothing to show for it and $50 less in our pockets. Communication on Amanda's part was zero to none so unfortunately, this is how the nastiness continues.

Does anyone know if the 10K has gone to pug rescue?

Hi there,

Our pug, the Dude was #905 for this project. I was just wondering if anyone from the Toronto group received pictures, or if anyone's received an email from Amanda?

Thanks so much!

Also a Toronto pug project participant - no pics, no communication, and to my knowledge Pugalug has received no money :(

I'm also from Toronto and haven't received anything at all. Very disappointed in hearing Pugalug didn't get any money either.

I believe people wouldn't have gotten so angry and nasty if there had been a bit of communication on Amanda's part.

I am glad some of you have gotten your pictures. I have tried to purchase them several times & each time my order has been canceled.
