question????

A woman placed an order on my etsy for a shirt and tie as a surprise for her daughter's wedding. It is for her Jack Russell. She does not have his measurements, but says he is "fat". Does anyone out there know any JRs? I am thinking 16 inch neck and 22 inch girth would be a good guess, but could be OFF....I may have to dream up a new "elasticized" version. Oh, and I have to ship it tomarrow, so I'm sewing tonight!

Hi Punchy!

My parents have a Jack Russel who is very overweight. I called my mom and had her take measurements. Her neck was 17" and her mid-section was 24". She is about 30 lbs- whereas her ideal weight is about 23 lbs.

I have no idea if this will be similar to the JR you are sewing for, but I hope it helps!

I'm afraid I would go with elastic too. Lilo has a 15 in neck and 221/2 inch chest. I'd be a little worried about the Jack Russell if I were her!!! Good Luck!!

You know, people tend to say someone is "a little overweight" when they are huge. I am going to say to edge on the side of caution here and go with elastic. Just in case :)
