Hot, hot, hot....weekend!

This weekend was HOT. The guys had the Salmon Fishing Derby, so we decided to take a drive and see some sights. D is from downstate and has been coming to the area for years, but has never walked about some of the coastal places. We drove the back roads and visited the lighthouse at the point. It was so quiet. We couldn't believe that there weren't any people milling about on a Saturday. We also walked into a couple of shops and then got lunch. We ate inside as it was so hot and muggy lunch outside would have been horrible. On Sunday P and I took the boat out. Some other friends from camp told us about a quiet, sandy spot on the lake. We first took a ride, then headed to the spot. It was really nice, shady, with a slight breeze and nice sandy bottom. We hung out in the boat, swam, and then our friends came over on their jet skis. They tied up to us and we sat and hung out. Then we all took jet ski rides. I hadn't been on one in YEARS...like 25! They seem much safer and don't tip over like the ones we went on when we were younger. I doubt I'd spend the money on a pair, I like P to do the driving and be able to bring the Pugs along.
Speaking of Pugs, it was way too hot for them outside or on the boat. They slept the time away in the nice air-conditioning!

Beautiful photos, what a pretty area!

When it is hot like that all you can really do is throw them in the lake! Although leaving them at home in the air con is great.. we have had 2 or 3 heat waves now this summer and the first one.. didn't have an air con so it wasn't very fun. :)

It's so hot here, that I'm almost afraid to take George out to potty!

Lovely photo's.

I'm really looking forward to getting George's "outfit". As soon as it arrives, I'll take a photo and post it. Now I just need to get Gracie's measurements, and see if you make dresses big enough for her!!!

How fantastic they can chill out inside while you're out on the water! The best of both worlds!!
