hanging by a thread

The shoreline of Lake Ontario is strange in places. At home it is rocky and in many areas houses are at lake level. My family had a "cottage" not far from our house in town. We watched the shoreline disappear. The front yard was about 7 feet wide the last time I was there. Errosion. Crazy. Many people spends thousands and thousands of dollars putting up elaborate breakwalls to save their property from disappearing. Can you imagine living up on this cliff????? There are many cliffs like these near us at camp, and in fact the two cottages across the road from us are dangling at the edge of the cliffs (not this high!). We take bets every Fall whether or not they will be there when we return in the Spring. I wouldn't want to have a problem with sleep walking....I mean, just saying?

wow, i really had no idea the shore line even could look like that up there! that's awful that it's eroding so much. i'd be really scared if i owned a cottage teetering on the edge of a cliff!

ps: i thought the title was referring to my current state of being, LOL.

Wow!! That looks like an extreme version of Grandma and Grandpa's back yard and they just have a creek in little old Indiana!

Oh wow!

Is it this lake that is losing water? I cannot remember which one is.... (well now that I think about that, it isn't this one!)

Wow, that's some cliff. That happens at the beach here. Several miles from here there are houses built on sand due cliffs...and now they are just so close to sliding down!
