Marty

Many of you remember the story of how I got Marty I was told the family (his third) that had him could not keep him as he had tried to bite their youngest boy twice. The day I met them the mother let him kiss all the boys goodbye and as they drove off he stood at the window of my car and cried....I cried too. Anyhow that was many moons ago now. Our friends at camp have their grandsons visiting. D wanted to come in and see the Pugs. Well he came in sat in the chair and Marty RAN across the sofa, jumped on the chair, got next to him and kissed him! He also sat nicely for a photo! I'm thinking little D reminded Marty of some boys in his past....I wonder if any of those boys think of him???? We made a fire that evening and Marty stayed on the screen porch. We let D go in and out to play with him. I was nearby to keep an eye on him. He asked at one point why Marty had a curly tail? I told him his tail was curly because he was very happy.

As the evening progressed D continued his Marty visits. All the sudden he yells "Marty is not happy!" I thought the worst..oh no did Marty bite him????? So I ran in and asked him what happened. His reply "His tail is straight". Gotta love it!

Phil has the day off today, so he left for camp after work yesterday. Because he has more room and it was so hot he talked me into taking the gang. He called to tell me when he got there he asked the kids if they could name the Pugs? The only name they could remember? Marty.

That was a wonderful story! Now my dad has to clean out my wrinkles because they're all wet from tearing up.

I cried on the way when Dad brought me home. I don't cry now, though!

awwwww...tearing up over here, thinking about Marty remembering his little boys. How sad yet sweet and wonderful that he has new little boys and girl to play with, and with a family that will ALWAYS have him.

That is such a sweet story. It is sad that Marty couldn't stay with that family but we think he is better off with you.

A straight pug tail is usually a sure sign something is wrong or they're concentration on something. If they stop eating you know something is wrong as well. Marty is a good pug name, I like it.
