Zoey got her report back and her growth was def Mast Cell. It came in as a low grade 2 with clean margins, same as 2 1/2 years ago when she had 2 tumors removed. Sadly we also discovered that the little monster has been too active and her stitches came out! The choices were for her to go under again and get re-stitched or to let it heal open. The recovery time is longer for the second option, but no going under, so we picked that way. Her daddy had trimmed her cone down a little too far too, so the vet insisted on a new cone, which he trimmed "as far as it should be". She is now on prevention antibiotics and we have to apply ointment twice a day AND try to keep her quiet. No easy task for a spitfire like her!
If you haven't been reading along, Zoey is in a contest and needs

Poor Z. Very glad that it was low grade with clean margins though. That must be a huge relief for you! The ornery ones always pop their stitches. And cones are so miserable for dogs without snouts! They can't eat, drink, see or get comfortable. Hate those things.
