Our sister has been born!

New Year's Eve is the official birthday of our new baby Pug. We got the call at 1:24 a.m. that the first puppy of the litter had been born. Eight puppies were born from that time until 8:10 a.m. Unfortunately, 3 did not survive. Mama Isabella and the babies are doing great. We are waiting for the photos via email and will post when they arrive. We are going to visit either tomarrow or Monday.

This is a photo of the mama and daddy of our new baby. It is all exciting and will be very crazy for sure. Are we crazy to have 3 Pugs? All you puggies with big families give us a shout and let us know what life is like in your family!

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all our friends. Stay safe, warm, and happy!

2005 is winding down........

So 2005 is quickly coming to an end. Hard to believe that we were all just talking about what was going to happen to computers when we went from 1999 to 2000! Time seems to move faster and faster. It is weird to realize that I have more time behind me than in front of me. Wow, that is way too depressing to think about. I need to hold on each moment, not the big picture, that is for sure.

Good news of the day - boss gave us Monday off
Bad news of the day - co-worker called to tell me she had accepted another position.

Just got telephone update on puppies...they think labor may have started. There may be puppies by tomarrow morning! Yeah, puppies. Hopefully everything will progress well and they will all be okay. It will be such fun to sit in a room full of Pug puppies! All that puppy breath! HAHA

Ahhh, yes I am becoming a blog wizard!!!!

I guess you can teach "an old dog, new tricks". I have managed to make some changes and additions to my blog. Yahoo! I have added a Stat Counter (oh, how exciting) and a section for "Fellow Bloggers". Now, some of you may be out there laughing, but for someone who basically writes and solves legal problems for a living - this is a major accomplishment. Of course I probably shouldn't feel too impressed, since mostly I just fooled around in the template and copied and by trial and error got it to work. I shall pat myself on the back anyway!

Now if I can get that little map thing to work, I'll be really happy.

Puppy Update: No news yet on their arrival. Today is day 64 of the gestation period. We heard Pug puppies usually come on day 63, so much for that! Hopefully they will arrive (safely) tonight or tomarrow, so I can make the hour trip this weekend to see them! I don't have to do my "first pick" thing until they are two weeks old. I think it will be hard to choose.

Back to Work

Clearly going back to work was.... ugh! After 4 days off all I can say is "bah humbug". At least the boss decided to give us Jan. 2nd off, which makes another long weekend. I think I would really like to only work 4 days per week. That would be great. Left at 3:15 today for drs. to check on problem with knee/foot/back thing. Dr. says all three are not related, so he wants me to go get x-rays on foot and knee. I have to say they were both feeling pretty good today, until the appt. After being bent and streched, things were hurting again. Tomarrow another doctors appt. for that problem "mass". This is 3 month check up. I pray nothing has changed.

Weather has warmed up around here and all the snow has melted. You could almost get to thinking that winter is over. Yeah right! I hear it is going to be good for the rest of the week. That's good so now my son can go move that chain link fence that one of our old neighbors gave us. It will be great to have a fenced area for the Pugs.

We had an update on our new baby Pug addition....nothing yet! Bummer. Today is day 63, so we expect news late tonight. Keep your paws crossed on that.

Here are some pics of the girls wearing their beautiful necklaces sent by their Tampa Pug friends....Max and Buddy! We love you guys!

Where is our new baby sister?

Mama bought a new recliner for her home office. She told daddy and the people in the store that she wanted a Pug colored chair. We think she did a good job of matching the chair to us. She took this picture of us today while she was home on her last vacation day for 2005. She is very sad to leave us home tomarrow. We'll be okay, our human brother and sister will hug us and take us outside. Dad says there is room for one more girl on this chair. He is holding up a sign for a photo mom took for our Aunt Linda. Her pug Isabella is having puppies and one is coming to live at our house. Mama wants to name her Holly Rose and call her Rosie. She was supposed to be born on Christmas Day. Mama says she better hurry up and come or she will have to be named Shelby Rose...heh, maybe that's the name she really wants and that is why she isn't born yet. We hope she comes soon. The vet says that there are nine little pug babies in there. Wow, Isabella is going to be a busy Pug mom. We will have to teach our new baby about those cats that live here and try not to play too rough with her.

We really need to go to bed now...we are so tired!

Christmas Eve

Just winding down from Christmas Eve festivities. My best friend came over early today to exchange gifts. She is fabulous cookie maker and always gives me a great cookie tray. This year she topped it off with yummy coffee from Dunkin Donuts. Dinner was here at 5pm. My immediate family now consists of Hubby, son and fiance, daughter, dad, step-dad, sister, brother-in-law, 2 nieces and a nephew. We had a fun time. My sister and family had to leave at 7:30 to go to in-laws. This is their first Christmas back as a family unit and doing more "together" for the kids. She was upset as Christmas Eve has always been our thing, but I told her it was fine. It was strange having everything breakup so early. One of my daughter's girlfriends stopped over to exchange, but everyone else that was left was gone by 10pm. I dragged the gifts downstairs, filled the stockings, and got ready for bed. I let my daughter open one gift. Her gold hugs/kisses bracelet.

*************************************************
Tomarrow we go to hubby's sister's house for dinner at 4pm. Lots of niece and nephews and their kids. Lots of noise!

*************************************************
On a sad note my dad's old girlfriend, from 1978 until the early nineties..told my dad that she has cancer....lung and back, same as my mom and gram. I believe she is only 72...such a sad waste. She quit smoking around 5 years ago. My mom had quit for 7. My gram had quit for longer than that. I thought quitting saved you?????????

Peace.

Is it Christmas yet????

Seems like Christmas is weeks away and then all of the sudden here. Seems like I am down shopping, yet still yearn to go into the stores. HAHA Luckily we got out of work today at noon. My coworker and I went out to lunch and then I picked up some last minute food things at the store. Came home and picked up....put the leaves in the table, set the table. We have 12 tomarrow night for dinner. There is the possibility of a few additions....you never know. Wrapped my son and his fiance's gifts. Still need to wrap dad's but need to get a large box first. Seems none of the stores had the right boxes when you checked out this year. We got my son a beautiful chess set, dragon theme. Last year I saw a set that came with a chess table. This year I couldn't find it anywhere. I finally found the chess set 40 minutes from home. I had one of my mother-in-laws side tables in our barn. Sent hubby over to get it out and now and in the process of doing some painting to the top. I put a silver specialty paint on top and on the edges, where the board doesn't cover am going to paint dragons. The theme of the set is dragons, he likes dragons, hence the reason to paint....dragons. Of course, I would like to give him this table Christmas morning, which means I will be painting and varnishing in between things all day tomarrow. Why or why do I do this to myself????? I am tired thinking about it. I think I'll take a nap!

Almost forgot. I mentioned before that we are getting another Pug puppy. A good friend bred her Pug and we are going to be parents, again. Anyhow, she went 2 weeks ago and took her for an x-ray, the vet said he didn't see any puppies, but saw 4 sacs. Last night she had another x-ray done and there are 9 puppies!!!! She is due Christmas Day. We are so excited! We get first pick of the litter...how will I pick?????

dog tired..........

Wow, we're all tired tonight. The girls were desperate this evening as the Eukanuba can was EMPTY. Zoey was trying to dig for it in the empty dish. I finally relented and drove to Petsmart. We just heard that locally the "Diamond" brand of dog food has been pulled from store shelves in our area. Seems certain dates of the food has grown mold and several dogs have died from it! We do not use that brand and don't know of anyone that does. I was paranoid tonight looking at the expiration dates and ingredients on the bag.

While I was out I made one last walk through Joanne Fabrics and Barnes and Noble Bookstore (they are in the same plaza as PetSmart) I bought a book for my son, a magazine for the hubby and that was it. As I walked to my car I said "enough already". I have plenty for everyone and need to stay away from the stores. Earlier today on lunch break I went to the liquor store and bought some cordial type things. My husband does not drink at all and I only occasionally. I thought maybe some fun martini type drinks that are colorful and can be made weaker would be fun to do. I also bought candy and stuff for stocking stuffers. It is amazing how much it adds up to. I AM DONE!

Hopefully tomarrow the boss will relent and allow me to leave before my Friday time of 3pm. I would like to just finish up the wrapping and relax.

I am an overachiever

My daughter's cheerleading coach in high school told me I was an overachiever! HA - but of course if she wanted someone to do something guess who she called!!!! Anyhow, I got most everything done today that I set out for myself last night. A big chunk of the day went to my daughter and I and our nail appointments. My tech was sooooooooooooo slow that the owner took over to speed things up. We went back to the salon we used to go to two years ago. Much more fun there. I don't feel like their talking about me while I'm sitting there! After the nails we tortured ourselves and went to BonTon. Good sales, long lines, bought stuff I didn't need. I actually bought a few things for next Christmas. The cutout cookies are baked, but not frosted. I did not do the chocolate chip ones yet. I found those fun chips that have little Christmas shaped chips in there. Guess I'll bake those tomarrow after work. All but my son and dad's gifts are wrapped. Did some wash, decided the house was not dirty, so why clean it? I will clean the bathrooms and kitchen on Saturday morning. No one is coming over until 5pm, so I have plenty of time.

Chloe and Zoey would prefer I just rest this evening..so I am thinking that sounds like a good idea. I really wanted to run over to Barnes and Noble, but what the heck I have 2 more days to do that. Why overachieve anymore for today!

How much can be done in one day off?

Cape May Lighthouse

Well, tonight hubby and I went to do a little more Christmas shopping. Ended up at the bookstore sitting in chairs reading. Like we can't read at home? Anyhow, he asked what I was planning on getting done on my day off on Wed. and I replied....cleaning, baking, wrap presents, nail appt., and grocery store. Now he was stunned that I thought I could possibly get all those things done. I was like heck the cleaning and baking can be done at the same time. I mean really once you put the cookies in the oven you have 8 whole minutes before you have to take them out! Hasn't he heard of multi-tasking? So, tomarrow we will see what really gets done!

I hate cars

Chloe waiting for a ride

Just want to say...I hate cars! Seems like we are always fixing, fixing, fixing. Since November we have put tires on my son's car ($125) fixed a sensor ($239) 2 tires and inspection for my daughter's car ($179) another sensor for son's car ($180 for part)...now hubby's truck needs FOUR tires and some strange headlight sensor that is over $100 but no one has in stock. It causes the interior dash to be dark and no tail lights...strange, strange, strange. He messed with it tonight and got it to work, hopefully for the two weeks that it will take the darn part to come in. So, I say to myself...would everyone consider these Christmas gifts???? Yeah, right.

The son is still waiting to hear about college acceptance for January 17th...the daughter is starting to look at transfer college for Fall as she is on last semester of community college. One thing is constant if life "change". I am secretly looking forward to the son getting out on his own and forging ahead with life. He got engaged on Halloween and they are now going to attempt "living together". Wonder what granny would think of that if she was still alive..she'd probably give him a piece of her mind! HAHA

Anyhow, this morning when I got ready to leave for work the Pugs tried to get in my car for "bye bye". I felt bad and promised them a ride after dinner. Hubby and I drove around with them and looked at the Christmas lights....seems people have none or tons. They are all, including hubby sleeping now...so tired.

So please notice the attempt at decorating the blog for Christmas....I figured the easiest way was colored font. Easy to change and doesn't mess any settings!

Rescue complete

Got home a bit ago from hooking up with the Pug rescue! We completely drove a different way than directed and ended up at the right place....kharma. Turk (name to be changed) is gorgeous! He has the most coiled Pug tail I have ever seen! He was an absolute charmer all the way home in the car. Sat in his new mom's lap and behaved like a gentleman. It's so nice to be part of a "happy ending". He has a new home for Christmas. I'll post new photos of him soon.

I'm fretting a little tonight...the hubby dropped a pistacho shell and Chloe ate it! I'm hoping that is all comes out okay...if you get what I mean!

Can't believe the weekend is almost over! Also, can't believe that Christmas is knocking on my door!

So tired

Myself w/Cydney the cat, Mike (from Shelter)
Gale, Lisa, and Tara in front

Today has been a very long day. We started out at 8:30 a.m. to go to clean out our stuff from the rooms we were renting for our Meetup events. The owner has leased(?) the space and we are moving...again. We still had our donation items for the Wayne County Shelter there too. We packed our cars and headed off to the shelter. They are very appreciative of any and all donations. I was happy that we had so much stuff and money for them! Afterwards we went to coffee.

From there the hubby and I traveled to Canandaigua to pick up a chess set for my son. We took the "long" way around...phew, I had to take the last set from the display case! Dragon theme set in silver and black. I'm sure he will be pleased. Now if I could just get a table finished.......ugh!

After that we went to Eastview Mall and wandered around. The best part was the delicious (and expensive) ice cream at Maggie Moos. No lunch for us! By the time we got out of there it was 5pm! What a day. In the midst of all this driving, I made arrangments for the adoption of Turk the Pug. I am driving with his "soon to be new owner" Donna tomarrow to get him. We are meeting in Batavia at 5pm...it will be yet another long, long, day.

Finally wrapped, or should I say bagged some gifts and put them under the tree. Phew! I finished off the night by making my neighbor/tenant/friend some photo coasters for part of her gift. These coasters are very cool glass coasters that came with a wooden box to hold them in. She is crazy about her two cats, so I scanned their photos and made 4 colorized versions. She is a great person and a wonderful tenant. I will add this final part to her gifts and be almost done. Thank goodness.

Glad it's Friday!

Here's a photo of the winter coats I made for the girls. We had this taken at our Pug Meetup and used it for our Christmas Cards. I think they look adorable and you can see by their smiles that love them too.

We didn't really get the storm predicted for our area, although travel into work today was a little scary. I drive a VW Beetle with a 5-speed so I feel pretty safe in it. I'll just look like a spinning red top!

I got contacted yesterday by someone needing help placing a Pug! Poor baby only 1 yr. old. He is beautiful and we already have 4 families that want him! I hope to pick him up in the next few days to have him in his "forever home" for Christmas. Isn't he adorable??????

Baby it's cold outside

Wow, the weather is freezing! The girls HATE getting their little paws cold in this weather. Can't say that I blame them. They haven't figured out that we can't still walk around the whole acre to find the "perfect" spot. A fellow blogger is making us booties to try out. Should be interesting. They have several choices of winter wear. The most recent being reversible coats. One side embellished fleece and one side taffeta, along with the fur edging, we think they look mighty cute. Now many non-Pug owners have seen this photo and always ask "what's with the tongues"...I say HOW DARE THEY!!!!! They're Pugs. Well, having some problems posting the photo - guess we'll have to try to post it later. Keep warm!

We're backkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

Tara, Cyndi, and Debbie

Zena, Zoey & Chloe watching for their moms in the lobby. Shouldn't they be enjoying the party?

Well, we have been busy or maybe just lazy. Too much to say in a post and then say nothing at all. Just crazy. Thanksgiving came and went, now Christmas is right around the corner. Most of the shopping is done, but nothing wrapped under the tree. Our Pug Meet-up group had a party in November and the girls had their photo taken. I scanned photo at work and forgot to send home to add, opps! Anyhow, last weekend our meetup groups had a Christmas party. We collected items for G.R.A.S.P. and Wayne County Shelter. Last night Tara and I delivered the donations to to G.R.A.S.P. at their Christmas meeting....they were thrilled with everything.

Oh, the leaves are falling

Mom and dad spent a lot of time yesterday cleaning up the yard. When mom took us out at 6am....more leaves...wow! That silly cat that came to live in our barn was laying in mom's flowers and holding very, very, still. I think she was just waiting for us to make a wrong move. She has kittens and mom said there were 4, but now we only see 3. Mom and our neighbor have been trying to "catch" these little kittens for weeks. The mama cat is nice (even though she doesn't like dogs) mom hold her and she purrs...but those babies are crazy! Mom grabbed one the other day and you should have heard it. The noise was terrible and mom tried to put it into the cage, but it got away. She says she is wearing dad's leather work gloves from now on! She doesn't want to get "cat scratch fever". Well, we have to go take a nap, while mom goes back outside...looks like a lazy day.

Sunny Saturday

Well it is a sunny Saturday. We have all been up since 6 a.m. Daylight Savings Time has messed with all the human and dog minds.

Here is a quote that mom really likes.....

"If a dog will not come to you after having looked you in the face, you should go home and examine your conscience". Woodrow Wilson

Ahhh, Friday

Oh, we all really love Friday. Friday means mom and dad can be home with us girls. It means begging at the kitchen table for 2 whole days....at least twice a day. It means nice walks in the leaves, going in the car, and snuggling on the sofa. The only bad part is mom catching us bothering that darn cat! We really don't mind the cat, it's just that she hisses so much, she makes it fun! She is the only one missing in the photo. She won't be seen with us "dogs".

Mom has been busy this week dreaming up ideas for our Rochester Pug Meetup Group. We hear she wants us to dress up as a Pilgrim and an Indian. Wow, she's always dressing us up! She loves creating and making costumes and we really don't mind dressing up for her, it makes her so happy. Stay tuned, I'm sure she'll be posting a photo of us.
