The not for begging story....

We all know how expensive taking care of our pets can be.  Probably most of us here have spent more than we ever want to keep track of on our furry babies!  Years ago I made a promise to my husband that IF he let me rescue and have multiple Pugs, that I would support their vet needs with my Etsy shop.  I have been blessed over the years to have 6 Pugs and although sometimes money was tight, I was always able to take care of them.  Then came this year.  This year normal stuff became not so normal.   Now we face end of life issues with Cancer for Chloe, fighting the evil beast with Zoey, and we know Marty may or may not have some "C" issues himself. (but at over 15, nearly 100% blind and nearly deaf, we are letting him live out his life as it falls).  While one at a time, sometimes hard..all at once emotionally and monetarily blinding.

Many friends have asked if they could help or fundraise and I have been VERY reluctant to ask or accept any help.  I help others, I don't ask.  That's just me.  I have always directed those that want to help to visit my Etsy shop and that way I feel they get something for their money.   Many say, but my dog or cat doesn't like to dress.  I say "what's up with that"???? So, IF you are one of those people asking me "how can I help?" I still say visit my Etsy, although I honestly have not had much time (or drive) to add new items, you can always request a custom item, which I am happy to make.   Now for those of you who KNOW who you are IF you are still insisting I will put this out there..... our vet is Webster Veterianary Clinic - their telephone number is 585-872-6467

Update - I make my items for all breeds and size dogs!

Hug your babies....xoxo

Learning about nature

Our little B is soaking up everything around her. Seems like yesterday that was her daddy, except I doubt I ever held a snake for him!!!!

Fun weekend day two

After a short nights sleep we headed back to our hosts house and took a trip into town for brunch and after a bit of shopping back for a cookout.  We were all happy to spend time chatting and laughing with blogger/Facebook friends from across the US!

Weekend fun

We have a special weekend of fun planned this past weekend. Despite Chloe's illness and Zoey's mast cell surgery we pressed forward. I decided the best plan would be to take the youngsters, Stewie and Kiki. We got the car packed and left on Friday morning.
Stewie was a little worried.

So was Kiki.
And it rained. A lot. Lots and lots.

But they slept and I drove and eventually we got there!

Our hosts Sluggo, Wilma! and Brigitte and their parents.

More Friday fun....

Week away

Last week Pug daddy P and I headed to Williamsburg for some recharging.  P's sister gave us a free condo for the week and who can say no to free?  I have to say it was a difficult week to be away from the fur babies.  We left on Saturday knowing the pathology report for Chloe would be coming in and worrying about the growths that had recently appeared on Zoey.  Monday night the vet called with the bad news and after 2 days of crying my heart out, I pulled myself together and put a smile on my face to get thru.  The weather was BEAUTIFUL, the condo and resort BEAUTIFUL.  We ate WAY too much!  I read 4 books, worked on Sock Monkey Hats and Minion Hats for the shop and walked and swam and relaxed.

Over the years we have visited this same resort 5 times.  We had never visited Yorktown and this year decided to visit.  What a beautiful treat!  Like a mini Colonial Williamsburg without an entry ticket or the crowds!  First stop Nelson's house.  If you know your history you know Nelson, if not....a cool huge house!
A HUGE and beautiful monument
the beaches along the river were so nice and we went back later in the week to just sit here and relax
I love Ford's Colony....old style....with wifi!
Thursday evening after a day at the beach we headed to Norfolk to meet a special blog friend!  Southern Fried Pugs for dinner!  What a nice visit we had!

We headed back and made it just in time for a Ghost Tour thru Williamsburg.  Boo!

The last morning leaving the pool.  I loved this gate!

Keeping each other company

This morning when I got ready to leave for work Chloe went into the "recovery" area to join Zoey. At lunchtime when our son stopped to check on everyone and let them out, she went right back in and claimed the same spot.  Sisters forever!

Pressing forward with the cone....again

Zoey came thru her surgery well. 6 incisions to heal. She was unhappy being away from the grumble last night and will be doubly unhappy to be penned when I leave for work. Oh these little furballs!

You know the old saying

When it rains it pours....

While we still come to grips with Chloe's sad news, Zoey had her dental and mass removal today. They found other growths while they were prepping her, so she now has 6 incisions and clean teeth. Now the wait for pathology results.
These girls know how to worry their mama.

Thank you all for your many kind words and prayers.

Chloe

Sadly Chloe's tumor has been diagnosed as malignant melanoma.  We are going to surround our girl with love and embrace the time we have left. Thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts. We feel honored and blessed to be cared about by so many.
